I've heard that a large part of the Palisades company has been bought out by another company. I wonder how that will affect any further Muppet figure releases. The Jareth figure is due out next March. Am I right in thinking that it is being made by the same people who bought us the "Movie...
From the photo I saw of the Palisades version, it looked pretty good. I know these things tend to change over time before the final version is agreed on but it was quite impressive. There was even promise of his long coat being available in selected packages. It'd be nice if NECA decided on...
It seems coincidental that another company would consider releasing a Jareth figure so soon after the Palisades version has been cancelled. Is there a bet that the new figure will look awfully like the one that Palisades was due to release? :smirk:
Is this the 12" Jareth figure that has been available to order since the beginning of the year but is yet to be released? Was it cancelled? I haven't heard anything about it since I ordered it months back.
Great puppet. It looks like it's gonna fetch a fair bit of money too. Just wondering if what you sell them for covers the materials and all the work that's put into a creation like that?
We could however turn the conversation around to how Jim Henson felt about merchadising. Someone else mentioned that Jim wasn't in favour of a company releasing Muppet puppets in general.
I'm still waiting for my Kermit too. Stupidly I ordered from a company in Canada. MR has to send it to that company and then send it to me in the UK. Can't wait to take photos of it when I get it tho. Anyone else bought a Kermit and not posted a photo or two of it?
Anyone with artistic capability would be able to create a Hoggle head from clay with all the skin creases and character he has in the movie. The photos seem to me like it was a quick job done just to prove it COULD be done without considering if it would be done well. I find the photos a little...
If you watch the pitch reel, Joan Ganz Cooney explains that replaying a short clip a few times throughout helps a child to grasp the idea better. Kinda like a commercial. The more you see it, the more it imprints on your mind. :)
I don't think I remember the Little Muppet Monsters version of the end credits to Muppet Babies. The instrumental version of the opening theme is the only one I know... I think.
I think that fear wasn't drilled into people quite as much in the 70's and some things, like taking a photo of your child on holiday in a bathing suit, was much more acceptible than it is nowadays. I did notice when watching the DVD that a few of the things, like the kids showing "over and...
I think I'm right in saying that Little Muppet Monsters started around the time that the 30th Anniversary special aired. It may have been a little promotion slot having it in there. :p
When they talk about the Kermit poser not being smaller than the Kermit puppet they are talking in a few centimeters here and there. By comparing a photograph of the Kermit puppet and a promo photo that uses the poser, there would be no major difference in size. The shape and size of the head...
I'd prefer to see the 30 year anniversary special re-released than a new one made for the 50th. I wonder if they filmed more stuff than was used for that special. It'd be nice to see any extra footage too.
I have Jim & Kermit and Frank and Piggy's autographs in a frame. One of most prized possessions. They are only on regular paper so I'm still looking for decent photos to frame them with.
It would be very obvious to tell if it was a re-print. Even from the photo you can tell it has been written in black marker. It's a very cool photo, definitely worthy of framing! :)
I can't imagine one of the Muppet performers would take time to personally sign a photo of one of their characters. They are usually photos that have been signed in bulk by one or more of the regular Disney staff. If Bill had signed it on behalf of Rowlf he would have probably put his own...
I have two different CD versions, one US and one UK and neither have anything more than the front cover art from the original LP. Only a fraction of Animal's face can be seen and they both seem quite crudely put together. Both of them have the full and original track listing tho. Pity they...
