Check out the scene in the first Muppet Show episode where Kermit interviews Animal. It's the the video section of my Kermit Myspace too. He is definitely a fair bit bigger than Kermit and not just because of his legs. :)...
That's exactly right. On my Kermit Myspace I have already had people send me photos of a Kermit toy with a reefer or him interfering with another stuffed toy. If people had something more realistic to be depraved with they could do the Muppets some real harm.
These conversations have been bought up on another thread about the Kermit poser replica. To be honest, I don't even really see Kermit today as being the real Kermit. The only real Kermit is the one performed by Jim and no matter how many replicas are made, that's how I will always feel.
I was speaking metaphorically. :) It has been astablished many times over the years that they would not sell an original Muppet puppet for any price anyway. Mores the pity.
Problem is, none of the vintage Muppet stuff fits in too well with what Disney do nowadays. They are still convinced that "Muppets are just for kids" and that is exactly what Jim was trying to get away from in the early years. Oh the irony.
That's the version I have. I think it was only ever released once in the UK. It was released by Palace. They released other Muppet videos at that time.
Check out the first Muppet Show episode where Kermit interviews Animal. Animal's head is almost twice the size of Kermit's. I am pretty sure that these prototypes are accurate.
Here's a late 80's/early 90's promo photo using posers. I think it shows the size difference between Kermit and...
I bought the new Christmas album purely from a collection point-of-view. I am a major fan of the old stuff and don't really care too much for anything the Muppets have been involved in since the mid nineties. I do hope, however, that these new Muppet releases will encourage new fans to delve...
Thanks mrsieve, that link is much appreciated! :)
BOTH those prototypes are looking very acurate so far. As many of us have said before, making a Muppet poser look real is all in the photography. Both of these prototypes have been photographed from obscure angels that you wouldn't usually see...
I can't image any company owning the rights the the Muppets making puppet replicas. There would be too many shady characters out there trying to make a quick buck if they could get their hands on REAL looking Muppet puppets. I'm sure someone like Peter Jackson would have a field day! lol.
After listening to the samples on Barnes and Noble I think it is gonna take a while for me to get used to the new voices. I am seriously gonna try tho!
Thanks for the run down theprawncracker! :D You have just pushed me to order a copy from Amazon.com. Shame these things don't get released in the UK.
