Frank Oz interview on Tavis Smiley

Nice to know Frank still has a "hand" in things. Sorry, bad pun.

    Preorder the Animal Muppet Replica

Thought it looked a little odd that Wizard already had it for pre-order. Just thought I'd let you know tho. I need to wait until a UK supplier has it on their site before I order it.

    Preorder the Animal Muppet Replica

Wizarduniverse.com have Gonzo up for pre-order! Does that mean that all systems are go for the Gonzo release? http://wizarduniverse.stores.yahoo.net/ds156-2.html

    Preorder the Animal Muppet Replica

Is there any news on whether the slight tweaks to Animal have been successful? It'd be nice to see a photo of the final prototype before it is sent to China for mass production.

Frank Oz interview on Tavis Smiley

Muppet Wiki says that Bert has been performed by Eric since 2000, as is Grover. Cookie is performed by David Rudman after taking over from Eric in 2001 so that Eric could concentrate on Bert and Grover and there could be more interaction between Cookie and other "Frank" characters.

Frank Oz interview on Tavis Smiley

Oh, I thought Eric Jacobson performed Frank's characters on Sesame Street.

did Jim Henson ever perform a left hand?

Just found the article where Kevin Clash explained it. It's in Jim Henson: The Works. :D

did Jim Henson ever perform a left hand?

All the Muppet performers would have played characters they weren't known for because there is no other way to tape a scene where there is more than one character that is usually performed by the same puppeteer. In The Muppet Show where Kermit has "twisted a flipper" he is noticeably being...

    When Kermit Met Piggy...

Jim and Jane seperated in 1986 but never divorced. I really don't think people can get legally married without actually being aware of it. I am pretty sure it would be null and void.

    When Kermit Met Piggy...

I wish I could have done a study on this subject for college. With all these ideas and opinions from everyone, I could have aced it! :D

Frank Oz interview on Tavis Smiley

Did you hear the slight slip-up? Talking about the Muppets, he talked about "...the characters that I perform and Jim performed, and the other guys still perform..." Should he have said "the characters I performed"? Maybe he hasn't completely left the Muppets behind just yet. He might just be...

did Jim Henson ever perform a left hand?

I've heard that story but I think it was refering to a "bunny" sketch on The Muppet Show. Apparently there was one particular rabbit at the back of a big crowd of characters that was being a little "larger" than the rest and Kevin was about to tell the guy to calm it down until he realised who...

    When Kermit Met Piggy...

It was more of a tongue-in-cheek kind of response to how over-the-top Piggy was being in her verses of the song. Kermit always has seemed to want to keep a certain amount of distance between him and the pig.

Frank Oz interview on Tavis Smiley

To be honest, he could have stuck with performing Fozzie and Piggy for the rest of his left if he'd have wanted. The fact that he is still trying to push himself to achieve greater things shows him in a very favourable light. I have always felt a little betrayed, from a Muppets point-of-view...

did Jim Henson ever perform a left hand?

Jim would have very probably performed the left hand of many characters. Althought he was the founder and overall manager and producer of much of the Muppets stuff, I think he would always get stuck in with the rest of the performers when it was needed.
  16. Mistersuperstar

    When Kermit Met Piggy...

I'm pretty sure most of the Muppet performers have operated Piggy at some point. Imagine a sketch consisting of Animal, Piggy and Fozzie. Frank would really have his work cut out to be able to perform all three at once. All interviews with Piggy, unless she is swooning over Christopher Reeve...

    When Kermit Met Piggy...

Is it just me or is this conversation getting slightly surreal? ;)

    When Kermit Met Piggy...

We never actually find out whether the musical "marriage" in The Muppets Take Manhattan turns out to be real or not. Kermit whispers quite concerned to Piggy at the alter "I thought Gonzo was gonna play the Minister" and Piggy giggles nervously and turns her head away from him. Hey Beau, do pigs...

    When Kermit Met Piggy...

There was an old joke about a bear market that I nearly stooped to there. :o

    When Kermit Met Piggy...

That new Muppet series they are doing is supposed to be based on what the Muppets get up to back stage. Maybe we will find out more about the frog and the pig's real relationship from that! Is it really all just for the cameras? :concern:
