I really hope that's not the case, but as Sony are releasing The Dark Crystal as a two-disc, maybe one disc will be Blu-Ray and the other just regular DVD.
I take it that it's down to them not being as hard wearing being simply carved foam. I can remember reading somewhere that a Muppet's shelf life back in the 70's wasn't very long. They had to remake them constantly.
You will need a tape player or record player that has an audio output that can plug into an external hifi system or amp. You should be able (with the help of the right cable) to connect it to the audio input (line-in) on your computer. From there you can record it like you would record any other...
I always thought Steve Whitmire had one of the best singing voices. Gotta give Frank Oz credit for the Piggy musical numbers tho. He has a pretty rough voice when he speaks normally but manages to really soften it when performing Piggy. His throat must be raw after a long Piggy number.
I was pretty surprised when Palisades released more than just the main characters as action figures so maybe there is a chance for more than just the main 5 or 6 Muppets. I guess it all depends on how well they continue to sell. It's up to us to buy them all so MR and Disney realise there is a...
I think it has just been newly transfered from the original 35mm (not sure that's right) film. They can clean up the image better nowadays. I hope it isn't being released as a HD DVD tho, or at least not ONLY.
Fozzie will be great to own, especially when you pose him with Kermit. There are loads of classic Muppet photos of Fozzie and Kermit that you could reenact.
Do you think there is a chance that Forbidden Planet won't be able to get hold of any Animal replicas or is it that they are just slow? I don't want to miss out.
Thanks Antony, I appreciate the info. I think I might stick with Forbidden Planet for the Animal now I have preordered it but I might try Cards Inc for my Gonzo. :concern:
Woah. I have been dying to see more rare footage from Labyrinth. It was my favourite movie when I was growing up. I'm so excited, I feel like a kid again!:p
It's amazing to hear Jim Henson's memorial service. Like so many of us on here, I grew up watching Jim's creations on TV and listening to the Muppet records and I almost felt as if I knew him. Listening to the memorial, even tho it's 17 years on, it makes me feel like I am part of it somehow.
I am loving all these fan photos of their replicas. I still need to take some of mine with a decent camera but I am worried to death of over-bending him or something. I think, the more replicas we get to go with the Kermit one, the more realistic and official the photos will look. :) Can't wait...
I might be wrong but I think Animal's face is made from foam that was carved and then dyed. I think Gonzo's face and nose were done the same way. It would have been cheaper to do it like that as characters were constantly being remade when the older puppet started to wear out. That's one of the...
