I agree, you put into words what I've been trying to say for some time, lol. A lot of people defend certain movies (and certain recent Muppet projects) saying "The Muppets always appealed to adults!" And they are right about that point; Jim did appeal to adults. But what we are seeing recently...
Agreed, that's exactly what it was like, lol. And it's not about being open-minded. There's a difference between clever adult humor and immature toilet humor. Cat in the Hat was jaded and cruel in its humor (as are many of the current Muppet projects). Just because we have the freedom to make...
I'll give Transformers 3 1/2 stars. Overall, it was good, but we didn't get to see enough of the Transformers themselves! And the human characters were just so flawed and awful. Then again, as Optimus Prime says, there is hope for this young race. :)
Just wanted to mention I found the exact quote from Fraggle writer Bob Sandler, "I learned an important lesson as a writer on that script which is, ask everyone around you; let them contribute to your success. Let them make your job easier."
Again, it's about having a balance between being...
No I agree, you have to be careful. But it's good to have balance; even the Fraggle writers said they looked to others for assistance in their projects.
As far as sharing your ideas, I think it can be beneficial to bounce your ideas off of other people. Very often that can help improve your idea. You just have to make sure you can trust said people. And it might be good to register your finished scripts with the Library of Congress for copyright...
It's very true, writers often aren't given much support. In the Fraggle DVDs the writers said working on Fraggle Rock was such a great experience because they actually got to keep so much of their own words in the final script. That is not typical.
Lol thanks, it's from the Old School Volume 2 DVD and it's something that's been bothering me for ages, lol. I mean, how can the adults not believe in a Snuffleupagus while they're living in a neighborhood with a gigantic bird, a green thing that lives in a trash can and what is even worse a...
Oh yeah, trying to find anything in this thread can be a very daunting experience, lol! Still, there's always something interesting to read while you wait! ;)
When I look back at the first few pages, I can't believe how much of a lurker I was, lol.
FraggleMuppet, now I'm in the mood for...
Hope everything works out!
Sure, why not? It's good to keep writing, it develops the skills and stimulates the brain! I'm in the process of updating my blog; this particular entry has taken forever because I want it to be just right.
When your writing works, it's an awesome experience...
Everyone's free to go with whatever interpretation they want of course, hehe. For my part, I'm content with Gonzo being a Whatever, and the Frackles and Monsters just being happy with themselves. :)
