My deepest sympathies Snowth. :sympathy:
Had you ever actually had your story published at all before the movie came out?

In other words you self-published it I take it.
Like I did with my first book and am planning to self-publish a new book this year.

Well even though technically as Barry Lee said they really didn't know they'd stolen your idea, since it's highly unlikely any of them ever read your book, still it must be very hard on you.
I'd feel the same way if movies were made that closely resembled the stories I've written and I wish you good luck in pursuing your recognition as an author Snowthers.

As far as sharing your ideas, I think it can be beneficial to bounce your ideas off of other people. Very often that can help improve your idea. You just have to make sure you can trust said people. And it might be good to register your finished scripts with the Library of Congress for copyright purposes. It does cost money but it's a good way to do it.

Like I said, I've got my sister-in-law to help me out in that department.

But I disgress, like I said, you never know when someone you share your idea with will take it for granted and do something with it before you do, then you're S.O.L. At least that's what's been drilled into my head for the past eighteen years.

No I agree, you have to be careful. But it's good to have balance; even the Fraggle writers said they looked to others for assistance in their projects.

Well, there's always my mother; she's like my BIGGEST source of assistance I have!
