I'm not big on straight up plush. When I buy plush I usually like them to do something. Exceptions are few but I do have a few vintage Pound Puppies and a Loyal Heart Dog Care Bear Cousin that I'll never part with. Of course I bought those before I established the No plain Plush rule. If they...
I remember Family Dog. It started out as an episode of Amazing Stories and was spun off into a series.
I think my favorite of the 90s cartoons was Road Rovers though there were a lot of gems in that era. Eek The Cat, Freakazoid, Stunt Dawgs, The Critic just to name a few.
Do drugs and you'll get to meet all your cartoon heroes! Who will then proceed to tell you what an idiot you're being. Probably not the best moral to take away from this special.
I remember this but only vaguely. I seem to recall watching it just before leaving to go see the first Ninja Turtles...
Dumbo's Circus and Alf are the only two that spring to mind. Frankly I've found most non Henson puppet shows to be overwhelmingly creepy. I can't see the charm of HR Puffenstuf for example. He looks less like a benevolent and friendly creature and more like something that would stalk you in a...
CGI characters will never have the soul the Muppets do.
I didn't see this. I used to watch wrestling regularly though I was more of a WCW fan than a WWF/WWE fan. I can't seem to stomach wrestling much anymore and wouldn't sit through it for a few short Muppet skits.
As for the wrestling fans...
Actually I'm the same way regarding pork. I can eat bacon, but I hate pork chops or ribs. Sometimes I can eat ham but only rarely. For Christmas and Thanksgiving it's gotta be turkey.
Happy Feet 2 itself seems a bit superfluous let alone actual merchandise for it. I guess it may be worthwhile if you like penguins. I don't. Of course I don't like frogs either normally but Kermit himself is a very likeable character deserving of merchandise. No one in Happy Feet has that going...
About the Puss in Boots thing. Most Dreakmworks movies ( other than Shrek ) don't seem to have a lot of merchandise. The only Dreamworks film I can think of that had a lot of merchandise is How To Train Your Dragon. I don't think it sold very well though. They still have a lot of HTTYD...
About the Puss In Boots thing... It's basically a Shrek spinoff and I didn't see a lot of merchandise for the last Shrek movie. Certainly not to the level of being plastered everywhere that the previous 3 movies had. They may be easing off on the merchandise for PiB as well. Then again I don't...
I kind of enjoyed the Chipmunks movies. However there's no way the sequel deserved to make more money than The Princess And The Frog. The Chipmunks movies are the kind of movies you watch once and sort of enjoy but you could care less if you ever see them again. I suspect the Smurfs movie will...
Princess and the Frog is one of those movies I didn't think I'd like. Then I caught it on TV and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I don't remember seeing a lot of merchandise though. The only thing I remember seeing is plush of the two frog characters at Wal mart. I hope we see more muppet...
You are correct sir. That information does indeed annoy me greatly. Your new avatar however pleases me. Right now I am feeling a mixture of annoyance and pleasure.
The G-Force stuff deserved to fail. It was a horrible HORRIBLE movie. Of course unless dogs are involved most talking animal movies annoy the heck 0ut of me.
I'm glad there was Dug merchandise, but I'm not big on straight up plush. Usually if I buy a plush it needs to move or do something. I...
You're right. If I'm remembering correctly the Little Clowns characters appeared in bumpers between shows on ABC Saturday mornings. The foul things were inescapable if you watched any cartoon on that network.
For the most part I'm not an animal person at all. Most pets seem to be more trouble...
Wait... There was G-force merchandise but no Up merchandise? Seriously? So I could own an obnoxious talking Guinea Pig figure or plush but am denied a Dug? Something has gone very wrong if that's the case.
You are wise not to do so. Fortunately most of what I remember about it has been mercifully erased from my memory. Little Clowns From Happytown has always been my ace in the hole when talking to people who think 80s cartoons are the be all and end all of animation. Nothing from the 90s or 00s...
Forget him. He's an idiot. If this is what he thinks is funny he'd do well to actually watch something done by a decent puppeteer to see what real humor is. Jim Henson has probably crapped things that were funnier than this moron.
I'm not a puppeteer but I highly respect the art form. The...
MuppetAnimal mentioned an interactive Rowlf like Elmo Live.
This. This so very VERY much. I have a strict rule when it comes to toys. I only buy robotic/interactive pet type things and even then only if they're dogs. I'd probably break that rule if I ever came across a Rowlf figure. but if they...
Frankly if I'm going to be bombarded by movie merchandise every time I enter the toy aisle I'd much rather it be Kermit than Cars. I love Kermit. Cars is the only Pixar movie I fell asleep halfway through.
