Funny you should mention that, because that episode aired yesterday on CTS here in Canada. Funny thing was Link and Strangepork were still wearing their Pigs in Space costumes when they came out to confront Fozzie.
Actually, I think that was a different sketch alltogether. Mumford was trying to pull a rabbit out of his hat, and each time he said the magic words, "A La Peanut Butter Sandwiches", there would be no rabbit, but Grover gained a rabbit feature(first whiskers, then buck teeth, then rabbit ears...
It was a scene in the movie, almost exactly as you described it. Maria ends up ordering a tossed salad(thinking it's safe) and of course, they launch the salad at her in a catapult, which sets off a huge food fight in the diner.
But I guess there was a different but similar sketech done on...
Wasn't there an episode when Maria was pregnant, and she was having those stereotypical strange cravings you often hear women have during pregnancies. But she couldn't figure out what it was she wanted. Then they saw Oscar eating one of his usual strange food combinations(I can't remember...
There was also one that was done for the Sesame Street Christmas album. It was about a Christmas tree and Ernie got Bert to play the tree. I don't think it was ever done on the show itself.
They probably didn't have Kermit because at the time the video was made, Kermit was owned by Disney, so they couldn't use him(for new segments). Otherwise, I'm sure he would have been included in the presentation.
It looked like a painting to me. Or at least that's what it was supposed to look like.
I don't recall there ever being a close-up of that picture, so the best you can probably expect is a screen cap blown up, which would obviously be very poor quality.
I was looking on the cable guide for next week, and it appears that the Muppet Show is back on weekdays at 3:00pm. I checked the CTS web site and it doesn't make any mention of it that I can find. But I guess we'll find out next week.
He had a lot of great lines in that scene. I love this one too:
Prof: If I can inflict a little pain and suffering in the morning, I sleep better at night.
I think this is the first time in a long time that it hasn't aired in Canada. In recent years, it aired on YTV. I guess maybe the rights to air the special ran out or something like that. It's a shame since unless you have a taped copy, it was the only place you had to watch the special unedited.
I believe it went like this:
Professor: Say goodbye to the frog, pig!!
Piggy: Why should I?
Professor: Because in 10 seconds, he won't know you from kosher bacon!
Actually, I believe MCC aired on CBC a couple of weeks ago.
As for MFC, I keep checking the TV guide, but I haven't seen it advertised yet. But my cable box only goes up to a week in advance, so there's still a chance it might air next week sometime. Luckily I have a copy on VHS I can...
Well there was that one episode where Kermit asked Robin to sing a cute little kids song, but Robin wanted to sing something more mature. Robin said something like "I'm going to call my lawyer. I'm gonna call my agent." Kermit replied "I'm gonna call your father." Robin of course quickly...
I don't know when it was released, I assume a year or so after the special first aired. I remember I got for Christmas one year as a kid, and used to play it every Christmas. Basically, it uses the same dialouge from the special itself(with some lines edited out for time purposes). And Santa...
