I loved this sketch. It had some great interaction between Rowlf and Piggy.
Rowlf: Why don't you have her do something simple like 'Roll over and play dead'?
Piggy: Why don't you roll over and drop dead? If I wanted her to do something simple, I would have had her play the piano and make...
I would hang on to them at least until I found out all the episodes on them will be uncut on the upcoming season sets. Initially, I was going to sell my Best of discs, but since I found out scenes were cut from Season 1, I decided to hold off on that.
A few years ago, the Museum of Civilization in Hull, Quebec had an exhibit of Canadian children's television shows. Among the displays were two Fraggles(I think it was Mokey and Red). And above the entrance was a prop plane with Basil, Louie & Dodie(from Canadian Sesame Street)...
Yeah, I think he mentioned that in his book, where they were going to get someone else to do the rollerskating scenes, but Caroll spoke up and said he could do it himself.
I'm not 100% sure, but I'm almost positive he mentioned that in the book.
I think you may be confusing a couple of different sketches.
There were a series of skits where Grover showed up at Kermit's home as a door to door salesman, selling various items that Kermit would not be able to use, ie. earmuffs, nosewarmers, etc. Once Kermit points that out to Grover...
That's something that always bugged me as well. My only guess is that they recorded the song for the soundtrack before they filmed the movie, and during production, it was decided that Kermit worked better for that line in the song than Fozzie, and just inserted Kermit at the last minute, but...
I've been uploading my collection over the past week or so. You can see what I've done so far here:

More to come.
I grew up watching Sesame Street and the Muppet Show(and later on Fraggle Rock), so I never really thought about how I got into them. I just did, I guess. It's interesting to think would I have gotten into them had I been born later. I'd like to think I would, but I can't be sure.
Yep, I have that skit downloaded. Ernie has a pickaxe and taps a rock, saying "This is a big rock" and takes it. Then he taps another one saying "This is a bigger rock". Then he taps another one saying "This is the biggest rock of all", but before he can pick it up, a green monster rises up...
This was the best I could find:

I believe they attack him one at a time so they can do the subtraction. Like when he makes the first one disappear the narrator says "Four take away one leaves three". If I remember correctly, they didn't appear intimidated until the last one was left and I think he tried to run away, but I'm...
I'm pretty sure the Muppet Show First Season was a big seller, so I doubt they would cancel something they can make money off of. My guess is they're having difficulty securing the rights to some of the songs, and after the complaints they recieved on Season 1, they want to make every attempt...
