My guess is they'll start off with Season 1 of the Muppet Show, and once they go through that, they'll start on Muppets Tonight, and then the Jim Henson Show. At least, that was the way they ran it last time. I was ticked when they stopped because I missed a couple of the Jim Henson Show...
Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but there was a Sesame Street reference on WWF Raw a few years ago. Shane McMahon was explaining what the letters WCW(World Championship Wrestling) stood for, but also mentioned what else they can stand for. When he got to C, he said "C also stands for...
I'm up to the Candice Bergan episode. So far, I'm not too upset at the cuts made, except for one. With the cut song from the Charles Aznavour episode, it also cuts one of my favorite Statler and Waldorf lines
Waldorf: I love french singing
Statler: I love french fries
Waldorf: French...
I got mine yesterday. I'm up to the Florence Henderson episode. I really love the picture quality, very good. I have seen pretty much all the episodes recently(when CTS in Canada was airing them) but I'm still enjoying them. I won't lie and say I'm not disappointed with the cut songs, but I...
Are you sure? I'm almost positive that it was Cookie Monster dressed as Ernie in that sketch.
I know there was a similar sketch where Ernie had eaten a piece of Chocolate cake that Bert bought, and Ernie said "Maybe a monster ate it". He doesn't actually say that happened(that would be...
It's an arguable point. Sesame Street was meant to be an educational tool. Had the character been developed today, he probably never would have developed his bad grammar.
Now that I think about it, I wonder what prompted Frank to start using the improper grammar for Cookie. Did he just...
I have this clip, and it's kinda weird to hear Cookie use the word "I" instead of "me" when referring to himself. I guess it was early in the character's development.
I don't know if Disney needs permission from Sesame Workshop to use the footage, but if they do, I'm sure they worked it out already.
Don't forget the closing number for the Marty Feldman episode where a bunch of Sesame Street characters appeared.
I'm not sure which one you are referring to. There's the more well known "Christmas Eve On Sesame Street" that's already been mentioned here, which is on DVD(check Amazon.com). But there was another lesser known special, which I've never seen, but have heard about.
I found a link to an...
I believe these were a series of sketches. One had Grover trying to sell Kermit earmuffs, and Kermit tried to explain to Grover he was a frog and didn't have ears. Similar one for a nose warmer. In another, Grover thought he had Kermit, as he tried to sell him sunglasses, pointing out he knew...
I think that was more to do with her infatuation with Kermit than any attraction she had to John.
Although they did something on the Rocky Mountain Holiday special where Piggy wrote John a note saying she couldn't be with them, but that she enjoyed the last trip they took together, which...
But the diehards will probably buy it anyway, regardless of which openings they use. I mean, what choice do we have? We either buy the set with the re-done openings, or we do without, because it's unlikely they would release another set with the original openings.
I know I will be getting...
My memory is fuzzy on this but I believe they hide in the area behind Oscars trash can where Big Bird's nest is. They overheard Grump trying to convince Oscar to move, because since his can is part of city property, he can't make Oscar move like he can the others. Oscar refuses, even when...
I'm kinda surprised Animal didn't get more votes. While I like all the members for various reasons, Animal is my favorite(but not by much). Still, kinda surprised me his score so far.
I couldn't agree more. I think what you said makes perfect sense. Even when the Muppets play other characters, their own personality still shines through. Even when Kermit was playing Bob Cratchitt, he was still Kermit. Same goes for Piggy when she was playing Emily Cratchitt.
With that...
Well, she did refer to Sesame Street as "that cute little children's show with puppets"(or words to that effect) on TMS once when Big Bird visited in a very condescending tone.
That would make sense, as there was that scene in MFC where Janice came in with Christmas cookies, and Cookie gobbled them all down. Janice then asked "Who was that strange blue creature?" and Animal replied, "That my kinda fella".
From observation, it seems that Sweetums mouth was operated by the right hand, while the left was the left arm. I notice whenever Sweetums mouth is moving, his right arm is usually limp, with no movement. But when called for, he can switch his right arm into the right arm of Sweetums for dance...
I think there were two that ended like that. One I believe was a Sleeping Beauty spin-off, where Kermit kissed the princess instead of Prince Charming, and she turned into a frog.
Another one where that happened, the princess was going to choose her prince, and she started naming the...
