The humans may be unimportant now, but when the show started back in 1969, yeah, they kind of were. For one thing, that was the whole point of the inner city street setting, to project a sense of realism and believablity to the kids of their original targeted audiences, and that included...
Well, keep in mind, when the laugh track was starting to become industry standard in the late 50s, writers and producers weren't really conscious of timing scripts and filming to allow room for laughter without overlapping/interrupting dialogue (and admittedly, that's one of the reasons Jay Ward...
This isn't so much a rant, but am I the only one who finds that Activia Greek commercial a little annoying?
LADY 1: Oh, I see you're having Activia!
LADY 2: Greek!
LADY 1: Oh, it looks like you're having Activia!
LADY 2: Greek! (Removes hand from the word "Greek")
LADY 1: Oh! Activia Greek!
FWIW, these are the Letter People we had when I was in kindergarten:
And interestingly, this was the mid-90s, and we were still using the original Letter People to learn the alphabet. The current Letter People are (not surprisingly) a lot more P.C. than...
I'll give whoever made this one thing: they really managed to perfectly sync Earl's mouth movements and other expressions perfectly to the beat of the rap.
The production values did seem to improve after the first number of episodes, that's for sure. Not a whole lot, but noticably.
And ah, yes, Monty Swell. The only other puppet gameshow host who could probably give Guy Smiley a run for his money...
And think too, prior to Season 30, the ends of the street weren't blocked, nor was the street turned into something of a cul-de-sac, so the street was shown to be pretty long - each end had a painted flat of a view looking further down a long street, so it could have been too that other...
Adam Sandler has too much power, period.
I'm actually embarrassed that I like THE MASTER OF DISGUISE because I didn't find out till years after it came out that his company produced that movie too.
Looking at some of the TV show on YouTube, I'm curious if those puppets were built by different people, because while some of the puppets really don't look half bad, most of them look very amateur and poorly put together.
Keep in mind, we usually only see one side of the street, we hardly ever see the other side of the street, which there may surely be other apartments that other characters live in.

Really? Google is all about fixing technological problems? If that's the case, how come they break more things than they fix? Oh! Wait! Now it makes sense: that's how they stay in business! They keeping...
The only ones I've ever known for sure are:
- Bob lives in the upper apartment of the tenament building that houses Hooper's and the Fix-It-Shop.
- Elmo lives in the top floor of the two-story brick apartment building that sat behind the fence of the arbor.
- Either Zoe or Gina (the former, I...
I don't watch either of those shows, but I do know exactly what you mean, because even though M*A*S*H had a laugh track, the producers didn't want it, so the DVDs give you the option to watch without the laugh track, and you're right, the show takes on a whole different pace without the laugh...
I'm seeing on FB more and more people counting on the changes to the set to revert back in the years to come.
That begs the question though, like Season 33, if they're going to spend time, effort, and certainly money on these changes, only to revert them back in the following years, what's the...
Ever notice almost all animated shows seem to start out with very pale and flat colors in their season or two, then after that the colors become much more bold, bright, and prominent? I'm guessing by then their budgets probably improve, allowing them to afford better paints and such.
