Or at least if they show human faults, that there's a way to overcome them by the end, hehe. The Fraggles weren't always perfect in themselves. That's what made the show good, the characters were complex and learned from their mistakes. Today they're afraid to show such things too much in kids...
Actually I haven't really seen those films, I just came up with that! But that's for sharing, great quote!
Well, we disagree on the Adult Swim sketch, but that's OK. We all have our opinions. And for my part, I won't let some of the more recent Muppet project dampen my image of them. :)
Well to be fair here, it's not that addicts and smokers can be inconsiderate. It's that people can be inconsiderate, no matter what their hang up is. We've all been there before. Thankfully, we've all had our good moments as well. ;)
I guess I'm not that upset about the commercial because...
I made a pledge to both, hehe.
Right, and that's why that rule was created in the first place, so kids wouldn't see characters like Fred and Barney advertising cigarettes. Though, I actually think the Flinstones were also made for adults at the time too, it was a take off on the Honeymooners...
It's true, people find it easier to be politically correct than to actually practice tolerance and equality. Contrary to popular perception, tolerance does not mean agreeing with people. It means being nice to others even when you disagree with them.
Yeah I know, that's a great episode. I actually really liked seeing the Gorgs on their own terms for once and not just being "the bad guys." It's sort of tragic that while Junior is a bit dim, he's clearly ten times more capable than his vain and prideful Daddy. But thankfully the episode "The...
Well as a matter of fact, many people have managed to quit or not start at all over the years. So it's not completely hopeless. :)
Idk, I'm not saying they were right about the Muppet Movie reference, it was uninformed. But I don't think it's a big deal either. No one remembers these things.
Very true! We're all annoyed at political correctness right now (and rightfully so, hehe), but we don't realize how good we have it nowadays. If you watch movies from the '30s, and learn about what society was like, you see things were much less united between different groups. That's why the...
I don't think he specifically talks about the "eh" thing in Season One, though he does demonstrate it. Maybe he's talked about it somewhere else though!
Well that is good, Fozzie Bear. :) Though the problem with smoke is even if you try to avoid people, it can reach them anyway. Plus blowing smoke into the air isn't good for the planet. Plus I don't like watching anyone hurt themselves, even if it's their own choice (though hopefully no one...
I don't want to infringe on people's rights, but something has to be done. I am sick of walking down the street and having smoke blown in my face, and then seeing so many people casually throw a cigarette on the ground. I'm also sick of losing relatives because of years of smoking. I'm also sick...
Nowadays in general, I don't take it for granted that the writing and producing will be taken care of. And sadly companies are not always in tune with what the public actually wants. Old does not necessarily equal out of date. Modern does not necessarily equal better for kids. :)
