I am thinking of getting married on one of these cruises next year. Should I sneak my Kermit puppet on and heckle the performers??
(I am joking of course, in case anybody was getting ready to jump down my throat.)
I think Garfield got better towards the end of its run (unlike a lot of shows), based on the reruns I used to catch before work (yeah, I'm a grown man... Watching Garfield... AND?!).
Certainly it was better than those terrible, terrible movies.
Most cartoons are done season by season and seldom have a chance to prepare a "final episode." Read this for more info:

It's about Dungeons and Dragons but it talks a bit about how cartoon series are produced.
I heard via rumor-mongering that Disney has pushed the Muppets way, way off to the sidelines to concentrate on rebuilding their "core" brands (introducing the Disney Fairies, re-doing Pooh to make him more "extreme," etc). http://jimhillmedia.com has some behind-the-scenes type stuff regarding...
Hey Erine81981, I'm 27 and have never dated a girl my age, they've all been at least a year younger. My mental cutoff is my little sister's age (she's 23... I think!). Anything younger than that is just too weird for me!
But hey, as long as they're out of high school, I think you're okay...
I saw it and it was okay, not great (I wouldn't see it again or anything). Samuel L. Jackson didn't have as many good lines as I'd hoped and there were too many bad-CGI snakes.
Here it's hot with a Tropical Storm on the way. Ernesto should start making himself known by Wednesday, with a full-on hit possible by the end of the week. Anybody else in the path of this storm?
I think part of the issue here is that as astronomical observation tools improve, science is going to discover more and more large bodies that may be considered "planets" under the (fairly loose) existing definition, and they needed to nail down what was "officially" considered a planet. Either...
MrHogg, I'll give anything a fair shot once, but usually only once. I'll never not watch something simply because of profanity or vulgarity, but I'll turn it off if it's more vulgar than it is entertaining (i.e. I can enjoy South Park and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but not Squidbillies).
I should...
Can I chime in? I think, nine times outa' ten, swearing is used as a crutch for a lack of cleverness. Look at "adult" humor -- movies, radio and cartoons -- from the 1940s, 50s and 60s -- and the Muppet stuff from the 70s and 80s. Much of it is very adult-oriented, that is to say, sophisticated...
Itchekadoozy, with the one line "If you sewed the mouth inside directly to the head covering, you may need to make sure that the mouthplate sxtend a bit past the mouth coloring, to avoid the inside curling up like that, and to maintain a straight curve in front" you solved the single biggest...
Am I crazy or did they cut off half the theme song for the Adult Swim showings?
I have Pee Wee to blame for my longstanding mistrust of guys named "Randy." That marionnette was such a jerk.
What about taking one of those Applause puppets apart and making a pattern based off of it?
(Though personally I could never bring myself to disassemble mine...!)
Trial and error my friend... Or carefully rip apart an old plush toy and "reverse engineer" a pattern... Do you have any concept drawings of what you want the finished puppet to look like?
Thanks again for the kind words. I am going to try to post my concept sketches for this guy later tonight, if anybody's interested...
Ventrilotwist -- the pre-made Teddy Bear shirts that I found were pretty small for this guy. I created him with the intention of being able to change outfits but...
I gotta say -- I agree with the bit about Big Bird and Matt Vogel, but not about Steve Whitmire and Kermit. I gave up and quit paying attention to anything with Kermit in it post-Jim. Whitmire's voice and performance of Kermit leave a lot to be desired. Same with his Ernie. Steve Whitmire lacks...
