I watched about a week or so ago. Yeah, it's pretty much TLTS the Movie, both in character personalty, the characters they use and the tone. I'm sure I laughed a couple of times, but it was really "meh." And the animation is very not good. It's like a high school doodle version of TLTS designs.
I don't see it being any different than the Monster Manners DVD, where the framing scenes are (from what I can tell) just Cookie and Prairie sketches based on a similar theme.
I can see this as sort of that, just a game with Elmo and some segments following each game that relate to it in some...
I don't mean vocal-wise. I mean character-wise. Think Frank's Mother Goose. That's exactly the type of character he'd make Manny if he did him in this bit.
I usually hate Sesame's rap stuff (It's way to "My name's [blank] and I'm here to say..."), but this Spanish dub of "Rappin' Alphabet" made me realize this one is saved by having a pretty sick beat:
It will be in addition to the show. I'm wagering it'd be based around Elmo, Abby or Cookie. Maybe even Murray and Ovejita and their adventures in the real world.
One of the articles about the deal said there will still be an "opening street story," so I'm pretty sure it'll be the long story, followed by a series of inserts.
I'd assume Crumby Pictures and Super Grover 2.0 will still be around. They're used in the current half-hour shows. It is a shame about ETM, though.
What's odd to me is that HBO wants a Sesame Muppet spin-off, when virtually, every long-form segment is technically a spin-off, as they air on...
Yeah, that figure is confusing and concerning me. I feel like 18 is something off-handedly said by someone interviewed and it's been run with. The Mashable link says PBS runs a total of 44 shows a "season," even though this year, they had 51.
If you take 18 from 44, you get 26. Maybe that's the...
This Mashable article is probably the best explanation of what's happening I've read so far:

It is available in stores. I know it's at Barnes and Noble, apparently (it's not at the ones near me, but their site said it was at one near my internship, though I couldn't find it).
(not apologizing for double posting) (This didn't occur to me until afterward)
I think it's just a coincidence that she left before this deal was made. In SW's own press release about the set changes back in April, it's said the season will start "fall of 2015 on PBS Kids." So, this deal wasn't...
