And I think that's the purpose of recasting Ernie. I still don't know why that wasn't discussed in detail on Muppet Wiki. But anyway I see what you're saying. If Steve were to exclusively perform Ernie, that wouldn't be so good because Steve is busy with Kermit and Disney and whatever. So if...
I agree. I heard the voice in the preview and found that Billy's Ernie is pretty much spot on to Jim's. Like, people have mentioned Steve's Ernie seems to be weak at times as if he sort of has trouble getting Kermit or Guy Smiley out of his Ernie voice. Plus Steve's availability is a factor as...
Kermit maybe? After all, if Mr. Whitmire is not longer working on Sesame Street, he now doesn't have an excuse not to perform Kermit in other things. Lol.
Actually the whole thing reminded me of Piggy's appearnce with Rudolf. Nice that they gave Eric a chance to do that song. I wonder if...
Ahhh. It's so much easier to post here than it is on the Toonzone Forums for some reason. My computer has been given me a hassle ever since I had to install all these downloads for my new job. But for some reason it seems to be okay now. Anyway, what was I saying.... Oh, I remember...
That Brand X sketch was really neat. I knew guy was originally called "Sonny Friendly," (No connection with the other Sonny Friendly character.) but I never knew he had a different voice. I guess this was before the "Pick Your Pet" game. I don't think that's Carroll. My guess is Jim using a...
Yeah. I wonder about that too since Dave and Eric still work on both SS and for the Muppets, but they sort of have multiple characters on SS, so they're kind of needed. I'll miss Steve as Ernie, but I think they made the right decision if that's what they need to do to keep the character going.
I agree. I hated that they played that song with the word 'he**' in it. This parade is supposed to be family friendly. Hopefully, they'll go back to the standard, "New York, New York" song next year.
Yeah. I noticed that was Billy's Ernie too. But I think it's a little too soon to...
I always thought Eric was spot on with Piggy's voice, but I agree with you about her attitude especially on Good Luck Charlie. Hopefully, she'll be a bit more loosened up in future projects.
Okay. I saw it now. The sketch with Prairie and :insatiable: was good. You'd think after about 45 years of dealing with him, she'd know better than to talk to him about cookie problems. :)
Yeah. That's what they need, more interaction with Muppets in Murrary wraparounds. I could definitely see that happening in some areas. Even in this ep when Murray met the pigeon. I thought that would have been a good place for Bert to make an appearance. (Though I've noticed all Bert's...
I agree. Seeing Forgetful was the highlight of the ep. Again, it's a shame he didn't have any lines. Nice that Susan returned as well.
BTW, does anyone have the video clip of the Cookie and Prairie bit? I only saw the half hour version this week, so it would be nice to see that and anything...
I saw the "Animal Talk" episode online last night. I might watch more of I have time. I'll take a look at that clip of the characters on the Alan Titchmarsh show as well. Though I can't help but wonder how Cookie and Elmo can be on that show when they're still on "Sesame Street." They seem...
Yeah, I find it hard to believe that the Muppets aren't doing anything much lately. Especially if anyone here has posted on the "Sesame Street" or "Henson People" threads we know that Steve isn't performing Ernie this season and the most likely reason for that is because he's busy working for...
Good points, Tooth. Though I wonder if Telly would have fit the plot better. I was a bit bothered by Eric's guy voice at first, but after reading your post I kind of understand how Eric is making the character his own, so rather than trying to imitate Jim's, he's just sort of doing his own...
Well, recent appearances of the Muppets may be geared towards the early days of the Muppets back when Rizzo was more of a secondary character. But still Gonzo and Rizzo always made a good pair. It would be nice to see more interaction between them as well.
That would have been cool. I liked their "Fool Us" show they did over the summer. Plus, they did make an appearance on "Muppets Tonight!" so why not on "Sesame Street" as well?
I know what you mean, since Abby's been on the show she hasn't had a lot of interaction with characters who appear...
Hmmm. You make a good point, Dwayne. It seems like Steve sometimes has trouble getting Kermit or Guy Smiley out of the voice when doing Ernie. It will be nice to see more of how Billy handles the character.
