I've been hearing that we may see new Muppet merchandise hit
Disney stores in the mall, as well as *possibly* Target, Toys R Us and a few other places.
So if anyone gets word of when this stuff will appear before Christmas, or has actually seen it...post here:)
(sadly only thing Ive...
Just wanted to mention, for Muppet fans that think Sesame Street is all floofy Elmo and Abby jib jab...
Check out the intro to "Murray/Word On the Street", where Murray Monster(Joey Mazzarino) and Ovejita go into the real world of NYC(ala Uncle Matt)
...
NO muppet fan should go without at...
I'm guilty of that too, but having been on this forum for 11 years now, we never really saw a REAL comeback.
Yes, in late 1998 we were all excited as heck at the idea that 1999 may be the big "comeback" year(Muppets From Space, of course) The early 2000 EMTV buyout left us scratching our...
Haha, true. Though Joe The Armadillo(from the behind the scenes Kermit Swamp Years dvd bonus feature) wowed me so much, I yearned for him to become a Muppet regular...so I'm so glad Joey was able to transplant a bit of that voice and personality into the Murray character.
YES! Man, any time we see Muppets in the real world where the public walking around is unscripted(Pepe scenes on From The Balcony for example) it's amazing. These are by far my fave examples...and I personally do not feel you can be a real Muppet fan and *not* love that "Murray had a little...
Yeah that is odd. It's almost like Murray and Ovejita only exist in the "real world". (My view has always been that Muppets are just actors, and everything we see is just them acting)
Man you're right...we've never seen him interact with the other characters. Also no cameos in merchandise...
Well...so far Disney has not released, nor announced the release of anything outside of the recent specials, the original series and
of course the movies. Meaning the more obscure stuff...last time we had that was the Ed Sullivan Muppet dvd by a third party company.
But I hold out...
Yeah I was sad Mopatop never got to air on any of the kids cable outlets or tv. I've seen a few episodes(and there are a TON they made oddly enough) and thought how amazing it was that they had so many cameos from Muppets/Fraggle/etc; but also the characters...most loveable since Bear in the Big...
Oh I agree. Heck my mom strongly remembers seeing Rowlf on the Jimmy Dean show in the early 60's. I love how the Muppets have been around for five and a half decades.
I'm sure both Muppet performances will pop on nbc or youtube soon enough. I missed the show too, so cant wait to see it. And yay for Lips being back! What is this, the late 80's again? :hungry:
It'd be ironic if the Muppets got to the point of massive ultra saturation to the point where you couldnt go anywhere without seeing the Muppets. Then again, I've waited my whole life for that!
And holy toledo, the Muppets are everywhere on tv...
YES! Ive only seen one of these
Well least the Muppet portions, they already did a Storyteller dvd release.
I'd pretty order these the second it was announced! I mean Muppets Tonight was a freaking Disney production!(ABC/Disney Channel) As was Muppets @ WDW. No rights issues whatsoever...
Have you picked up the Ed Sullivan's Best of the Muppets dvd?
It's a must for fans of rare super old Muppet sketches.
I'd love to see a dvd with Sam and Friends/old black and white Muppet business meeting films and commercials.
Also, tho in pretty poor quality, to those who don't...
Thanks for the explanation! I don't know why I didn't think of that. I would say, Muppet Babies HAD to have had a big following to have lasted 8 years and gained emmy's.
Muppet Babies is such a magical crucial part of my growing up in the early to mid, to latter 1980's that while I loved...
Hey that's what counts. Didn't we all agree that 2010 would be the official comeback/glorious reniassiance of the Muppets we've been waiting eons for? :)
Great analogy, and it's true...when comic shops became deluged with a bunch of monthly Muppet titles, Muppets.com got regular quality video sketches, LTS happened, etc. it was clear we were on the right path.
Muppets Take Manhattan was shown last summer at the big main cineplex in town...
Oh he directly acknowledges Brier though if you read the article.
Jim Hill for a long time(to me) seemed to be a champion of the Muppets. I think it was expected he would take notice of the post Bohemian viral success as a placemarker of where things are. It's a snapshot of something, as he...
Oh I concur! For years after Muppet Central dropped the ball with regular updates on the worlds of Muppets, Sesame, and JHC related matters we all wanted a blog or site to pick up the slack. So with the advent of Muppet Newsflash and the Muppet Mindset I could not be more thrilled.
Well again, not to go on a total JHC bashing session(I wish em luck with Sid the Science kid, their continual success with doing practical creature effects/outfits for big films, and other endeavors), but I just feel all the magic has left JHC and I think they knew by 2003 they just could not in...
