Just curious what some of your favorite and least favorite modern Muppet characters are? I guess I would use Jim Henson Hour to present. So 1989-2010 as "modern", which is fairly modern in the 55 year span of the Muppets.
Some examples I guess would be:
Digit
Leon
Big Mean Carl
Chef Angelo...
What we REALLY need is what Disney has been doing for years with Star Wars fans, and thats the Disney Star Wars Weekend Celebration.
I feel that if Disney doesn't have plans already, the fans should make it known that we want a big Muppet weekend filled with performers/muppets, guests...
I hear ya, I just always considered there to be two distinct Muppet canon or continuity. One being the real world, where all the Muppets are simply actors and go on talk shows to promote upcoming stuff or do appearances. And then the other canon being the generally accepted arc and origins of...
Just ripped all 11 episodes(and the 2 previews) in high quality and put em on dvd:) (*cough* google Replay Video Capture *cough*)
Not sure why these aren't simply shown on the Disney channel, as I wonder just how many people Disney is trying to reach will actually see these. But, as all of...
Yeah Angelo literally seems like a Sesame Anything/Whatnot, especially compared to Swedish Chef who makes a cameo.
Overall it's something, and while I don't like the look of this Gonzo build; overall I like how they interject classic era sort of sketches(Kermit Reporter, Bear on Patrol, etc)...
Classic moment, and I like how it pokes fun of how he isn't given hardly any parts since the 80's
Btw, WAYYY better quality to watch all ten episodes(man they made a lot so soon!)

I honestly do not know what is up with the Muppets watching home movies of themselves in MFC, as it seems to go against the real history of the Muppets(in Muppet canon) Henceforth, Skeeter being introduced into the Muppet fold proper(in puppet form) could be explained away as simply Scooter's...
Films like Marmeduke, Alvin and the Chipmunks 1 and 2, Smurfs, etc could have David Mamet, Frank Darabont, David Goyer, the phantom of Stanley Kubrick and the braintrust of Pixar writing them and they'd still stink. It's like Transformers...there's pretty much no connection or magic with these...
Man, is that a screengrab of the new Gonzo(on the left)? What happened? He looks like a bad knockoff or weird cousin of Gonzo. How did Gonzo go from looking perfect in Muppets.com and youtube sketches in 2008-2010...to looking, well like this? It's definitely the most dramatic and odd Muppet...
Aw, I dig the Italian thing, which makes sense. Though is it me or do human hands seem off with him? Just seems like he'd look better with the covered hands than the traditional Chef human hands.
Also, what the heck is up with Gonzo? Gonzo looks PERFECT in the Muppets.com sketches; but...
Given this was Disney D20 announced and not Henson announced, I definitely knew this was going to come to fruition...just had totally forgotten about it.
We have multiple pig females ,We have multiple chickens, multiple rats, multiple frogs...why not two chefs?
He does look like a puppet...
Yeah I mean the Tron Legacy teasers came way over a year before their release date, before filming even began. This is done a lot of times. And I could just imagine a short 45-1 minute long teaser trailer. Disney is very well known for year in advance teasers:3
Aw, you do have a point there. A lot of times as I recall it was expected charactatures or specific personas some of these stars would play as.
I just meant, I think a lot of us were taken out of the element when we saw specific cameos by characters in the late 90s and early 2000's Muppet...
Plus she could be portrayed as perhaps, in the 18-22 college aged range. While the Muppet gang seems much older(Gonzo often literally refers to stuff he did in the 1970's in recent interviews; and Kermit talks of his time in mid 50's tv land) it'd be interesting to see Skeeter portrayed pretty...
It just wouldn't make sense. The fun is when the Muppets take place in the real world. Shoot, Im a rabid Big Bang Theory fan but would be taken out of the element if "Sheldon Cooper" made a cameo rather than Jim Parsons as himself or playing another character. I think if they had cameos by Jonah...
Hopefully we'll finally see some good quality Muppet stuff in Disney mall stores this Christmas; though I suspect it'll not be til next year that we start seeing an abundance of unique and quality items.
Oddly enough, they mistitle Zoot and Floyd as "Sherlock Hemlock" from Sesame Street...
Would have to disagree, wasn't it you who said you didn't like the pop culture fictional cameos injected into MFS or VMMCM?
While I dig Sarah Marshall and the spinoff Get Him To The Greek, I feel parsing a meta fictional realm into a Muppet production gives it that distinct air of dated...
Niiiiiice. Ben Stiller is in it too? I'd love to see Michael Cera, Jesse Eisenberg, Jonah Hill, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr, Zoey Dachanel, Aubrey Plaza, Steve Carell, Rain Wilson, Jim Parsons, etc all make a cameo:)
Also, I would lovvvvvvvvvvve for someone on here to land a...
Heh, nice! I'm glad for Palisades mini figures, as much as I prefer articulation. I never thought I'd ever get to have a figural representation of Doglion, Thog, Mahna Mahna and the snowths, etc. Btw, is that someone's fan made Luncheon Counter Monster figure?
Btw Jamie, I'm surprised Disney...
