It would make sense for the Hub to start airing Muppet Show and during the mornings, Muppet Babies. The fact they're airing Fraggle Rock is just amazing, since most people haven't seen nor heard of it. Seriously, the Hub is literally like taking a portal back to 2nd grade for me in 1984, where...
I have noticed a trend. Notice ALL of the sequels and remakes that have come out:
Rocky Balboa, Rambo, The Thing(comes out next year, but is a prequel to John Carpenter's The Thing from 1982), etc. Though I am disappointed with the title "Transformers: Dark of the Moon"(that's not even proper...
I loved both your guy's responses. In a way, Im kind of surprised we even have a New York Toy Fair given how fewer and fewer toys come out. Its hard to imagine how Target and Walmart takes away from smaller toy sellers, given they simply only carry hasbro(gi joe, transformers, etc) and...
If youre talking specifically about the canon within MB, it does seem odd that they are all 24 hours in the nursery...so yes, we are suppose to believe they are either orphaned/adopted/abandoned. There is no other explanation, unless they are just there for weekends...which is highly unlikely...
Wow, I had forgotten what a Dodo was suppose to look like. To me the "alien" angle seemed highly contrived and forced, and hasn't been mentioned by Gonzo himself since then so to me its as canon as Kermit being Smolet.
Aw, but a long extinct bird that somehow had a few survivors...I could...
It is quite thrilling to have people from non English speaking parts of the world! It is quite beautiful and amazing to know Jim Henson's work has truly found its way to every corner of the world. It was definitely meant to be that you found the Muppets, and have been inspired by it. And your...
Oh I absolutely LOVE these. I could definitely see the Kermit images you made on a shirt, coffee mug, or some sort of merchandise. Your work has a very dreamlike quality to it, and reminds me of something I'd see in an official Muppet concept art book. I can't wait to see more of your work...
Yep! That's the way I see it. Ultimately the Muppets are all actors, but that we see common themes and narratives true to theirselves or origins interspersed through their wide body of work.
I have always thought Gonzo was a bird. There are so many bird species on the planet, I mean just...
Brilliant! I whole heartedly agree. I think if anything can be said of MB, it contains elements of things that are true; at least with individual characters and social behavior that comes out later.
We know a lot of the Muppets must be old too. Kermit would have to be at least 70 something...
I totally agree, as well as blooper scenes, talk show appearances, featurettes/press junkets, etc. This is why I do not take anything from the shows or specials or movies as "canon". It's like there's Jason Alexander, and his character George Costanza. (Though, I still haven't figured out how...
I like the way you think! Yeah I've long thought the Muppets are just actors, even Fraggle Rock...though I feel they do genuinely live in Fraggle caves. The cluelessness of Travelling Matt when he's interviewed(like in the 1993 Today Show segment) tells me he really is his character. Though...
Given how ubiquitous Sesame related shirts are, I generally just smile...but, if someone is wearing a Muppet related, or a Labyrinth or Dark Crystal shirt; I definitely have to complement them on it. Unfortunately, with any chance encounter(of someone who digs your band/tv show/cartoon/etc shirt...
I've opined about this ad naseum before, so forgive me...it just seems like running across or finding even casual Muppet fans offline(heck, even online) is a rather tough proposal. Sure, I always see people out and about wearing Kermit/Animal/Cookie Monster/Oscar/Sesame shirts or hats they sell...
Well here in America, I find it sad how much intense focus and scrutiny is put on looks. To the point where a lot of females both young and older feel 'less than' or have major self esteem issues in trying to fit in with what the local shopping mall or media deems is "attractive".
Imagine...
Also even from the rumored cameos, it seems like the stars are more thought out. It's almost cringe worthy thinking of the throw away cameos in MFS and a VMMCM that seemed to only be there to advertise something everyones forgotten about by now(Hulk Hogan, Dawson's Creek, etc)
But I agree...
Besides Drtooth on here, im guessing there's others on here who are baffled or irked by the state of the toy industry...and have some questions.
1. Prince points. Why is it that action figures have finally gone back to a 3 3/4" scale away from the 1997-2007 Mcfarlane size standard
(except...
I am extremely thrilled and pleased with the rumor list so far. I love how Ed Helms and Krasinski were mentioned. Though Rainn Wilson seems like a good choice too. Lady Gaga is a no brainer for this project. Jane Lynch is the current "it" actress in pop culture.
Just announced? Danny Trejo...
I think you and Frogboy are right(as he also expressed the good targeting of that date) My goodness, when I think of all the clunkers shelved off in August...tumbleweed city!
I remember this year, from July to August we had a flurry of films from Prince of Persia to Avatar(err I mean "The...
I wish I had grabbed them, as they were up on youtube a few years ago(the promos they cut for em) The ape guy is now one of the main characters of Late Night Liars, so Im glad they recycled him.
