In Development: Henson's Fraggle Rock Movie

:coy: Will Pat Buchanan and Lou Dobbs make all of the Fraggles register for special work visas, will they try to throw them completely out of the country or simply toss them back into their fraggle holes? :o "We must seal every fraggle hole for national security!" :attitude: He he. But...

In Development: Henson's Fraggle Rock Movie

I'm Convinced :excited: I have faith that this theatrical Fraggle Rock movie is happening. With the Muppets gone, the Fraggles are now the crown jewel in the Henson Company cap. I can imagine any trouble drumming up support for this project is due to the misconception by many studio executives...

The future of MR photo puppets.

There is no Terry but Terry! I enjoy all the puppet work seen around Muppet Central, but Terry's the man...er puppet man. I really am stoked to see what he does with the pig. :) I know Gonzo's netting wasn't ideal, but that's one fine weirdo that greets me every morning. Not the best...

If Jim hadn't died in 1990

One Frogboy's Opinion (and it is just an opinion) After many successes, Jim Henson had finally started to lose some of his touch before he died. The Henson Hour just didn't work to the benefit of fans, the material, the Muppets, the network or even Jim it appears. Labyrinth underperformed and...

The future of MR photo puppets.

I so agree with that. I just hope that these don't only make money on the secondary market as with Palisades. MR should be floating in green too for these masterpieces. :)

Would LMM have done better if it was all live-action or animated?

I liked the idea and thought it could work the way it was if given the room and time to grow. The animation was identical in quality to the Muppet Babies at the time so I don't see that as the reason. Sesame makes animation work with puppets so why not Monsters? :wisdom: Animation is more...

Jimmy Fallon to replace Conan on "Late Night"

Rebound Host & Where is the Loyalty? Leno named Conan as his replacement years ago so that there would be a smooth transition and to avoid the Leno/Letterman feud of the 90s. He said that he wanted to finish out the current political season because that would be finishing on top for him. Jay...

The future of MR photo puppets.

The Sesame Workshop license is notoriously expensive. I know that, in part, accounts for the difficulty in getting Palisades quality Sesame figures on the market. Sesame photo puppets are unlikely - especially considering that MR wouldn't want product competing with the current Muppet Show line...

The "I Did Something Stupid Today" Thread

Are you sure it's not your provider or some telemarketer? That happens sometimes. If this is some wrong number person it's best just to tell them that they have the incorrect number and they need to solve that issue on their own because you don't know who they heck they are or who the heck...

    Thoughts on Deep Dish Nine?

I liked the possibilities of PIS: DD9 but nothing seemed distinct about it. The joke was all in the title sequence but little fun came after it. The original PIS was about the character performances, but these guys didn't relate to the audience yet. They might as all been wearing the infamous...

So Bad They're Good: Cult Films

Cult and camp go hand-in-hand with me so here are some of I have thought of: (off the top of my head, not all are personal faves) Mommy Dearest 1981 PG ($19M US Box Office) - Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford - she leaves this infamous role off her resume. Who's That Girl 1987 ($7M...

Is Meet the Feebles worth seeing?

Peter Jackson wrote the Feebles script and shot it largely using his profits from a previous film. When he couldn't reach the deadline he submitted what he could while sneaking off to the studio at night to complete the film on a shoe string budget and under a fake title. That's dedication to...

Is Meet the Feebles worth seeing?

Cult Classic. That's why I keep reiterating that even though I enjoyed elements of Peter Jackson's movie I still consider it "The most offensive film ever made." I like the link you provided that shows for Jackson this film was actually a labor of love. (Well, love, a hippo and a machine...

    Star Wars Prototypes

I don't like Clifford, do you?

Digit serves as the same "type" of character. Yeah, there are differences and that is intended, but he really serves the same purpose as Bunsen on the Hour and I think Jim intended to invest in new characters. I would love to see Digit again - maybe as a tech in Muppet Labs helping out...

    Earth Day!

Ooops. He he. Those fuzzy little guys consume so much of my life these days (and the odd fishy cracker now and then) that I have mice on the brain. Mice share the earth so that's kind of on topic. They get such a bad rep when they are much more likely to catch something from us and die...

    Earth Day!

Oooh. I'm so sorry about your mouse! I have four - Crinkle, Squinty, Spunky and Speedy (the boy). I know just how affectionate they can be. Sorry again for your loss.  On another note. What is the ethical longevity for a puppet?

I don't like Clifford, do you?

Exactly. I never thought Muppets Tonight in any of its incarnations would have appealed to Jim because of how the Henson Hour Muppet portions were handled. He'd been there and done that with the Muppet Show and was interested in being much more avant-garde with everything. That, in particular...
