Your Thoughts: Letters to Santa Teaser On-line

So it's not a VMX or Oz for you? That snark-factor seems to have been replaced with classic universal Muppet humor. There's a joke that the Muppets might not be house-trained, but I think it's a joke that could have flown in the Jim era.

What year did you begin to loose interest in the show.

I stopped making a point to watch it in the early-mid 80s, but continued to tune in until Jim's passing. Once Elmo rose to the top it became an unwatchable Elmo-fest for this frogboy. I still tune in to catch an Ernie and Bert, Oscar or Bird segment. How rare the core of the show has become. I...

Your Thoughts: Letters to Santa Teaser On-line

The whole Santa angle seems to have come from the mind of Rainbow Connection composer Paul Williams. I agree that it seems a little too kiddie and Disneyized for my taste, but the clips seem contrary to that tone so I think it'll be okay. We already know it will have lots of Muppety music, an...

Your Thoughts: Letters to Santa Teaser On-line

I remember VMX came out in VHS only from NBC.com and was offered during the initial airing, but it took another year or so for it to hit DVD. I still expect it to hit places both opportunistic and legit around the web before Christmas. Such is the way these days. :)

Your Thoughts: Letters to Santa Teaser On-line

Honestly, I think they're showing too much now, but we are all likely in for a treat. It will probably hit YouTube, Hulu or there might be an offer to buy it after it airs from the NBC store like they did with their last Muppet Christmas special.

25th Anniversary Follow That Bird Edition!

Caroll Spinney has done book signings with Oscar on his hand. I've been to one and there were plenty of kids around so I wouldn't see an issue with it in a behind the scenes capacity. The bird thing is a little more traumatic as it involves head removal. I hope there's of footage of Jim Henson...

    Question about Seymour and Pepe

I just see the duo as the classic skinny - large comedic pairing. We know Pepe's voice comes from his mother-in-law. I've never thought of this comparison before and they do seem like Ren and Stimpy, but I don't think they were originally modeled after them. However, some of the writers could...

25th Anniversary Follow That Bird Edition!

The cover art is okay. I prefer the beautiful poster cover, but it's already been released that way. I can understand the inclusion of Elmo on the cover, but kids will get fussy when he only appears silent in the background for two seconds. Maybe they'll think the movies so good and forget all...

I finally got my Red (My first mini-review thingie)

I have noticed that as prices might fall on new products at Christmastime, prices on collectibles have increased quite a bit. It might be wise to wait after the holidays for some of these items as they might be listed for much less. I could be wrong. I just think the Fraggle items like the Santa...

Statler and Waldorf Ornament at Hallmark

I'm with you there and I don't think the new performers would be offended. I prefer they use original recordings for such product soundbites. I can see why they don't, but Disney has to consider a person that the average person that would buy this Statler and Waldorf ornament would be used to...

New Emmett Otter Jug-Band Christmas DVD

Your Thoughts: Letters to Santa Teaser On-line

Rowlf and Lew spoke in that recent clip. Same with Sweetums. We know Janice and Scooter have been assigned to Rudman and I could assume they speak as well. I love that they all go through the door and everyone gets to say something. Even Yolanda Rat! :shifty:

New Emmett Otter Jug-Band Christmas DVD

Yeah, even the copyright information is exactly the same on the actual plastic DVD case. It reads "2005" while the sleeve is "2008". :shifty:

    Stephen King's "It"

I saw the movie a very long time ago. Tim Curry is excellent from what I remember. But I'm now considering reading the book after hearing the thoughts expressed in this thread. It's been enough time since I viewed the miniseries (that was before much of my misspent youth and shed brain cells...

New Emmett Otter Jug-Band Christmas DVD

And the hits keep coming... HIT is an appropriate name for the distribution company because they sure have slapped us Henson fans around a lot recently and this Emmet Otter release is no exception. Not only is the "new" Emmet Otter DVD filled with the same content as the 2005 release - it...

Guillermo del Toro/Henson Co. to remake Pinocchio

I read about it from a link on Rotten Tomatoes last week. Sounds like the yearly revivals of Nightmare Before Christmas and the ucoming Coraline have inspired Del Toro and the Henson Company. The Gris Grimly illustrations that the film will be based on are even more striking than Nightmare or...

    2008 Menu Descriptions

 Marley & Marley Christmas Menu :boo: The current Christmas menu is of the Statler and Waldorf Marleys from Muppet Christmas Carol. The color palette is mainly icy blue and black with some green holly garland and red bows hung on the back wall. Also, both characters hold colorful...

    "Not-real Kermit" Benefit Appearance

Disney seems to be cracking down recently and technically it is unethical to perform another person's character for money without consent even if it does go to charity. However, I do think this should be overlooked and it probably will. I will have to agree that Disney’s dropping the Kermit’s...

Statler and Waldorf Ornament at Hallmark

It sounds like them to me, but I could be wrong. Hearing it over my laptop sounds like new cast.
