    Kermit's Swamp Years

I agree there. That's why I don't like KSY. It's mainly kiddie appeal instead of the wider appeal of the Muppet gang. KSY is what puts the Muppets into a target box, not me or my view of the characters. You like the cute stuff. To each their own taste. KSY is just not Muppets to me = the...

    Kermit's Swamp Years

There are degrees of lunacy. It appears you grew up with a different Muppet than I did. The writing and comedy in KSY isn't the caliber I have come to expect with the Muppets. Even MFS is a step up, but we've all got our project faves. ;)

Great Kermit Fozzie Whatnot Interview by Fox

Okay, no jokes about the guests having less stuffing in their heads than the hosts. :o This was a fun interview. I suppose there wasn't time to do a whatnot, but this turned out so much better. Not only are the Muppets back - Kermit and Fozzie are back too. And from what I've seen of the special...

    Kermit's Swamp Years

Those moments just seemed more suited to a Barney movie than a Muppet movie to me. I don't believe in over-goofing a performance just because Muppets are present. The "for a Muppet movie" designation makes no sense to me. Human-to-Muppet interaction plays much funnier straight. I guess I'm...

    Kermit's Swamp Years

That doctor fellow was over-the-top by even a Jerry Lewis standard IMHO. :o But I don't get the "for a Muppet Movie" designation.

Classic Muppets filming NBC Christmas special

Are you playing this in slow motion? Will this require an intervention? :o Actually I noticed everything but Eric's head and Zoot's hat (however he did appear different for some reason).

    Muppet Replica Christmas photos

Great job with those. Wow! And Rizzo too! :shifty:

    Kermit's Swamp Years

Really? I grew up with human actors "playing it straight" with the Muppets instead of acting like silly over-the-top cartoon characters. Think Charles Grodin in GMC. That's when the interaction is at its best for thirty-something-plus fans like myself.

    Kermit's Swamp Years

My feeling is that KSY was mainly big budgeted kid-vid fare with stale dialogue and overacting by the human stars, yet with some warm Muppety moments and musical numbers thrown in. The armadillo extra feature is better than the film itself. I was sorely disappointed. Could it be that the...

Guillermo del Toro/Henson Co. to remake Pinocchio

I'm with you. I didn't understand that statement either. I haven't seen anything short of amazing from Del Toro. He's a director that actually crafts his pictures. It's a rare art these days and he does it successfully.

    2008 Menu Descriptions

I'm one of those freaky, young at heart, 34 going on 12 "elvin-looking" people so I'm used to being viewed as a frog-boy. :) My bouncy Muppet walk doesn't help. :D The end of the year gets tough for people particularly artists. This is when people need us. Summer rolls around and clients stop...

25th Anniversary Follow That Bird Edition!

This cover is simple and moderately attractive, but has no depth, artistry or interest beyond the initial grab of attention that something Sesame is about. I get it - crisp clean big portraits of the characters pops more than the beautiful hand drawn poster. Still, I think we've conditioned...

Disney greenlights "The Muppet Show" comics

He he. I guess that might be a cameo from another Langridge cartoon. I posted a long-winded (a bad habit of mine) reply to some of the criticism of concerned Muppet fans over on his blog. It really communicates my personal feelings and hopes for this comic book to longtime Langridge fans. Some...

    2008 Menu Descriptions

Ooops. Some of that typing was from last year. Feel free to edit it. Last year I mistakenly wrote that it was a monacle, but now I find that it is likely a pair of spectacles he's sporting in the image. :o Feel free to drop in and edit that for me if you'd like. I'm a bit congested and under the...

:) Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas Menu :zany: The red Muppet Central logo (with green drop shadow) replaces an image of Ma and Emmet in their boat in the center of the page. The text changes to Merry Christmas! It is snowing rather thick across the Frogtown Hollow/Waterville menuscape. The...

Your Thoughts: Letters to Santa Teaser On-line

I'm so glad that Crazy Harry survived the modern state of political correctness. I actually sold one of his figures just the other day from the toy store where I work. Now there's only one Harry left (among some Beaus, Super Scooters, Series Two Gonzos, Swinetrek Piggys and Johnny Fiamas)...

    Muppets.com relaunches with Disney XD

The French Muppet Show puppet did that too. It was weird at first, but I like it. :)

Your Thoughts: Letters to Santa Teaser On-line

I get you. That was my first thought at this pitch. We'll just have to see. I have always found the Muppet Show gang to be for a mature audience (while not alienating younger viewers). That's why Kermit's Swamp Years still bothers me. I still feel the script was mostly generic kid-vid fare with...

Looking for "Bimble" Brian Froud Plush

I think the Bimble ones went first and then they were left with the rest of the characters they later marked down. I've looked for him too, but it's too rich for my pocketbook. Good luck. I'll keep my eyes peeled. :super:
