This is very true, my good Edward, but you'll notice I never said what the fibers came from. For you see, at first glance, these fibers could have easily come from a fuzzy jacket, and fuzzy jackets do appear to be in these days.
And are you sure you want to call Richard in as defense? He's...
Nora: A cookie heist? And so soon after your induction into the MC Senior Member Hall of Fame...
MN: Yeah, well, never a dull moment. That's the way the cookie crumbles...and I didn't get any of the Thin Mints. No fair, man.
Storyteller: Any suspects, o investigative reporter who's too smart...
R: Yeah, and here in heaven, there's no such thing as cavities or unhealthy weight gain. And all those crazy, unpleasant fad diets have been consigned to that other place.
MN: Really? No cavities or unsightly bulges? (remembers current situation) Now, then, still need to get those prints and...
(raises eyebrows) Interesting...how did you know it was a blue creature? Richard only said the monster was huge and furry. He never mentioned what color the creature was...
(rockets down from Richard's cloud and turns off jet pack)
Wow...so Mary likes having a slice of lemon pound cake with a cup of tea, St. Bridget loves a good slice of cheesecake and St. Anthony's fond of chocolate-dipped macaroons...and I'll really have to try this orange shortbread recipe...
Hmm...and now, (straps on jet pack) off to question a witness.
(moments later, on Richard's cloud)
MN: How are you feeling, Richard?
R: (reclining on a sofa with a mug of tea) Still kind of queasy.
MN: Okay, so we'll make this quick. Tell me what you saw.
R: I was in the main room, making...
(goes around room with fingerprint kit as crime-drama type music plays)
Hmm...I discovered several latent prints matching Richard's right thumb, index and middle fingers...but they're all on this recently-emptied box of donuts here.
(there is a plaintive, I've-got-a-bellyache whimper coming...
(looks at badges) Let's see...I'll take the Scooter glasses. (pins badge to jacket)
Fellow senior members and RHLC-ers, I humbly accept my admission into the worthy upper echelons of the club and of the forum in general, and I humbly accept the post of newsletter journalist for the RHLC senior...
Yeah...it must have been fun to watch the recording sessions for the musical numbers in that show. Wonder what the duet between Richard and Linda must have looked like?
As for the Harry Belafonte episode, I like to think about what went on in the studio when they recorded 'Day-O' and 'Turn the...
That's a different Scooter, Ed...and I think we all agree that the one with the orange hair, glasses and green jacket is much more endearing. But up in heaven, I wonder if Richard's a little miffed that his most famous character now has to share his name with a key player in the CIA leak...
So the theme from the Muppet Show made the favorite theme song cut. Nice to see that some guys on the radio have some taste these days.
Mom and I were just up in the rec room watching the Best of the Muppet Show disc (as in Harry Belafonte and Linda Ronstadt and John Denver), since it's been...
Nora: Wow...you're almost a senior member, Erin.
Storyteller: Yeah, how are you going to mark the big turning point?
MN: Hmm...haven't decided if I'm going to make the big post here in the dorms or in the RHLC.
Storyteller: True, that is a big decision.
(later)
MN: Oh, what the heck, I'll...
Let's see, I've seen a few high school productions of Grease and Oklahoma, and some local dinner-theater productions of The King and I and A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum. Recently, the university theater department did Urinetown, and for a journalism project, I sat in on...
Heck, no. We saw how Del interacted with Rita.
Picture, if you will, a guest strutting around the SS set with a sour look on his face and a huge, overinflated balloon marked "Ego" floating directly over his head. This guest walks by one of the Muppet sets...and Richard pops up with a blow...
Hmm...now that you guys mention it, maybe celebrity is kind of the wrong word to describe Richard, because he was a kind, caring human being, whose sense of humor was about as big as his heart, and a large number of today's celebs are pompous, egotistical...
(comedy club-style drumroll and cymbal crash)
And as if that weren't enough proof: "What we do is what everyone else in the world wants to do, and that's to act crazy. Except we get paid to do it."
