Jim Henson Idea Man
Remember the life. Honor the legacy. Inspire your soul. The new Jim Henson documentary "Idea Man" is now streaming exclusively on Disney+.
Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
I remember hearing Jim Henson himself say in an interview that although some characters by the same Muppeteer could interact, he generally avoided characters like Dr. Teeth and Rowlf in a dialogue with one another because the voices were too similar. He demonstrated the voices as he spoke. I...
I think Ruthie as a street character left the show, when the "Around the Corner" bit was discontinued, but Ruth Buzzi herself kept appearing in insert scenes.
The earliest of the Three Little Pigs sketch is among my favorites too. I don't know if this was the first one, but I'm referring to the sketch with one pig (Frank) in shot, and the wolf who blew away everything except the straw house.
I guess everyone who's seen that sketch knows by now that...
I see what you mean. I didn't know what you meant by the phrase "pumper pods". (That term is still new to me, but I think I get the idea.) The animation in question also involve two clowns, correct?
I thought it was the other way around, that old MacDonald thought the red frisbee was a UFO. Still I agree, that is an awesome skit, one that can be enjoyed on many levels. Priceless references like Kermit interviewing an AM pig and then stopping to say, "You remind me of someone. I just can't...
Could this be it? A song called, "My Name is You." The chorus lines you might remember are, "We all sing with the same voice" and "we sing in harmony".
If so, I think on the video "Sing Along".
Are you referring to those segments which a hand with a rubber stamp prints a picture, and then other stamp prints show up one by one? (One of them is a woman fishing and reeling in a number, right?) I like the music in those ones.
I confess, I've only caught one celebrity's favorite moment on the TV. (Not counting the 5 listed on the PBS website.) What sorts of memories to date, and accompanying clips have been shown?
If I'm not mistaken, three of the human "broke ranks" and believed Snuffy was real, and that was probably the season before everyone finally saw him. When that episode finally occurred, Gordon told Big Bird, "Maria and Linda and I believed you."
Until that point, it also put the three humans...
This Bert's not dead.
He's just resting. :D
Remarkable Bert, isn't he? His pigeons have lovely plumage.
(I hope I haven't brought bigger confusion to people here who don't get my reference.)
There's also an audio skit of Oscar and Cookie with Herbert Birdsfoot. Herb reads "The Monster's Three Wishes" and Cookie plays the part of the Monster and Oscar plays the genie. I know Oscar chuckled at the notion that the genie couldn't grant the monster his cookie wish because all his three...
You know I have a bit of a fuzzy memory of an Oscar/Cookie street scenario. I don't remember the reason, but Cookie bit a hole into Oscar's trash can lid. (With Cookie, did there have to be reason anyway?) Anyway, Oscar popped out of his can and was getting really upset, thinking how the rain...
Thought I'd add this tidbit. On the last Shalom Sesame video: "Kids Sing Israel (and Grouches Don't), Oscar appears on the video with his cousin Moishe Oofnik - the Israeli grouch.
Sarah Jessica Parker was one of the other "guests" on this episode. Here, she's lost but the grouches won't...
The thread about how Big Bird's other hand is being fully worked sometimes reminded me about what I often wondered...
At what point did Oscar have someone operating his right hand? (I believe now it's Jim Martin.) For the longest time, I remember only Caroll doing Oscar with no second...
