Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
Nobody's retired. Jerry, like Frank and everybody else, has other projects and works when he can. He does still regularly tape for Sesame Street.
True, nobody's on staff but that has no bearing on which performers appear when.
Frank's career is his own. He is still actively involved in the...
"Chaplin Studios could easily be sold, but they rent it out to other artists so it probably turns a profit."
JHC does not own the Chaplin Lot. They rent it.

Wiggy/Buck. It's not a cost issue. Scheduling plays a part: JTE, like Elmo's World, is shot separately from the regular season.
Also (while Caroll is still very much fit and well), JTE is much more physical than the average street scene.
As to why you'll occasionally hear Matt's Bird...
Matt performs the Bird only when Caroll isn't available. Mostly you'll see and hear him in Journey To Ernie, and occasionally on the Street.
As indicated in his book, Caroll still intends to perform Big Bird for as long as he possibly can. Meantime viewers get the benefit of a gradual...
DW. Eric plays Harry the Duck on episodes of Bear in the Big Blue House. Matt performed the lead in Murder, He Squeaked, the independent film he co-wrote and co-directed with Joey Mazzarino.
Both Eric and Matt play various one off characters on Sesame Street. I don't have any specific...
Luke. "Interesting that the version is Muppets only though."
To clarify: The cameras were at Muppet height. So it includes the guest stars, but, for the most part, not the Muppet performers.

Beaker. The Bambaloo characters were designed and built by the London Muppet Shop but were not Muppets. The credits read "Puppets by the Muppet Workshop" and lists the staff.
The main characters, built for Bambaloo, are all on the site. I believe the pre-existing puppets (including the...
Beau. "I don't think they will release this, because you can see the performers."
Actually, the opposite is true. The recorded version is Muppets-only. I don't believe it's broadcast quality. At the time it was only shot to provide vision for the big screens. Also, there would be too many...
Scott. "I wonder why it was decided in the first place to not renew Bear for any new episodes? It does so well after all."
Disney decided they had enough episodes to repeat. Preschool shows have high audience turnover so perpetual repeats are seen as OK. It didn't help from Disney's p.o.v...
"Did you know: Vogel is the Dutch word voor Bird?"
Matt and Caroll both wear orange slippers over their Bird feet during rehearsals, to cut down wear and tear on the official feet. Matt's slippers say "Vogel" on his right foot and "Foose" on his left, meaning, approximately, "Bird Feet."...
Buck. Matt and Joey were hoping to screen it at short film festivals around the place; keep your eyes open and you might catch it.
It's a hard film to summarize without spoilers, but it's a black-and-white black comedy about a dog, Sparky, who is threatened by his owner's new boyfriend, goes...
Greg. You're right, I just checked the cast list. I think Kevin is incorrectly credited on some lists. The other part of my answer still stands, which is, David was an assistant and background performer.

Greg. I believe David, along with Kevin and other Sesame performers, were on set as assistants and background performers. There are quite a few group scenes, and I don't think even David could tell you who he specifically performed. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Paul. Henson's UK division produced Jim Henson's Construction Site in 1999. (I did a little searching and if it's screening in Australia, you will find it on the ABC network.)
A complicated motion control rig and animatronic characters were used for this show. Regular Henson performer Mak...
A lot of the "non-core" Muppet cast have been, shall we say, left behind in the recent re-focus on the original characters. That is to say, nothing has happened to them, there just haven't been that many storylines to go around. If and when the opportunity comes up, Grungie may return, as did...
Ryan. "I was asking on Tough Pigs; Do you know how Bert's eyebrow is capable of moving? is it a string, or something more complicated?"
The answer from another poster on the Tough Pigs board is pretty darn accurate. I forget their name for now. But seek there and ye shall find.
By the way...
Matt does a really good Oscar, too, although an official Oscar understudy hasn't been announced yet.
On Sesame Street, apart from his Big Bird duties, Matt is David Rudman's regular right-hand assistant on Baby Bear and Cookie Monster, and he's part of "Team Elmo," the puppeteers who perform...
Buck.
This was never released in the US. I know David has a couple. He did record the voice (including the chorus of "C Is For Cookie").
