    Remember the Puzzle Place?

'Puzzle Place' was depending to heavily on the toy sales of the characters for the show to continue. The toys just stayed on the shelves and nobody brought them. They lost a lot of money anticipating great revenue from the toys, which never happened. So the producers stopped making the show.

    Muppet Movie Commercial

"It's A Big, Big World" is a beautiful show to look at. I heard a rumor it might not come back with a new season. I guess we'll find out in time.

    Muppet Movie Commercial

When you think about it, it's kind of funny that an anti-stress commercial featuring the human 'Jenny' is suffering from stress caused by... the Muppets.:)

    How did Jim die?

Here's an account of Jim's last days from People magazine at the time of his death: "Then on Friday, May 4, Henson was a guest on The Arsenio Hall Show. "He admitted he was tired, that he had a sore throat," says Novell. "But he insisted it would go away." True to form, instead of resting in...

    Chris Langham

I wonder when this will go to trial. It's been a number of months already since he was first charged. Does any one of our British MC members know if the court system in the U.K. is swift or dragged out like it is in the USA?

The Muppets and Disney Consumer Products

I agree. I watched Sesame Street for the first time in ages yesterday and was really put off listening to David Rudman do Cookie Monster. Disappointed to say the least. Now there's a character that needs to be recast.

The recent auditions showed that those selected to try for Kermit were based on Jim's voice. So some day, whenever there is another Kermit, it will be based on Jim's voice.

    Kermit Sneakers

Found this on the web. They appear to be new Kermit sneakers. The picture of the sneaker shows that the label inside reads 'Muppet Holding Company.' http://www.press.adidas.com/en/desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-227/ Also Miss Piggy Sneakers, her sneaker picture shows the word 'Disney'...

The Muppets and Disney Consumer Products

Hmm... maybe Muppet Central should have a poll, which characters we believe as fans should be recast. (Not that anyone at Disney or Henson or Sesame would even pay attention to us.) But still it's a good idea to see what the fans think.

The Muppets and Disney Consumer Products

I understand what Amicus is saying. Amicus (and others) wants to see Jim's version of Kermit again. And others fans are content with Steve's version. It's an ongoing fan debate.

Good point BoyRaisin2, thanks for that correction. At least Chris Curtin tried and we were all so hopeful. Down the line once they release the final 5th season of the Muppet show, since apparently there isn't new stuff for them to bring to market, what will Disney do then with the Muppets...

    How did Jim die?

In one of the other books written on Jim's life, there is also a mention that Jim believed in many types of religion and spirituality during the course of his life. When he took ill, a news report at the time said that the Henson family never even had a family doctor to call! So he went...

I'm sure Was Once Ernie would know better than I, but I do believe the Hollywood Bowl is an outdoor theatre. Which probably means cameras are normally seen at events held there.

Your Thoughts: Spinney's Lifetime Achievement Award

I also was disappointed at the lack of time he was given. Here's the man supposedly honored with a lifetime acheivement award and he isn't allowed to speak! But we hear all those other unknowns on the stage rant on-and-on. It just goes to prove that the Daytime Emmy awards producers don't...

Bird brained April 27, 2006 Caroll Spinney has played Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on ''Sesame Street" for 37 years -- enough time for Oscar to turn from orange to green, Snuffy to be revealed, and a little red monster named Elmo to achieve world domination. At the Daytime Emmys tomorrow...
