If YT is causing so much anxiety, there are other video platforms, such as Dailymotion, Vimeo, Liveleak, and Vlare, where a community of classic SS fans can build a new home. But ultimately, my wish is that the Workshop would vouch for fan channels in order to allocate any revenue generated by...
"Happy birthday (from Muppet Central Forum)" read the subject line of an email I got in my inbox this morning. I guess it must be that day again. That reminded me of one thing that would really make for happiness in my life, not just today. I'm not going to ask for any of the Season 3 shows...
I had started noticing videos showing up on my subscription feed that I wasn't interested in, and they were coming from channels I didn't recognize. When I zeroed in on who's accounts this activity was coming from, my first thought was: Did Nanto get hacked, or did he give away his accounts? I...
I appreciate all that we find and are given, both by the Workshop and by the hardcore fans. I'm a fan only in that I was lucky to be around during the show's foundational years, albeit as a kid from a family of not enough means to have had access to video recorders. So all I bring to the...
I'd like to share two video links. The first is my 2013 compilation of the "30 dots" clips I could find at the time:
And here's my most recent find of a clip that is kind of a condensed version of one of the clips in the collection, but is definitely its own entry in the series:
Hey SesameMuppetFan, if you have Dropbox on both your phone and computer, you can send the pic to Dropbox from your phone and then it'll sync to your computer, and then you can upload it.
I see that. I also see that RealPlayer Downloader doesn't receive the links when the video starts playing. Must be some new undownloadable format being used.
Well, for now, anyway, that is the case thankfully. But I can't help noticing some of the dubious precedents being set, presumably, by this whole HBO deal. I don't have kids, so I don't have any investment in what they do with the show in its current format. But regardless of what they do on...
Well so far, after another handful of searches, I've managed to find just one classic clip: the original "Pinball #12", which is juxtaposed with a newer version. I also found newer versions of "#9 Cutie" and "Ladybugs' Picnic", without their originals. All the "baker#" films, all the...
I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but I just went to SesameStreet.org and typed in such familiar search titles as "mad painter", "song of #", "Casey MacPhee", and "sugar beets". Each search resulted in the "Oops!.." error message. Is this part of the Workshop's reorganization...
But does "continue to appear on the show" mean in new episodes? That could just mean reruns.
This also calls into question if their characters are really relevant on the show anymore.
I could be wrong, but unless all the other companies involved with the CTW years of the show get on board, I doubt HBO will be an outlet for any classic eps that haven't already resurfaced. Besides, that would go against the grass-rootsy heritage of the show, but maybe that's just me injecting...
(I wasn't sure what category this would best fit under, so here it'll be for now.)
Hey Fellow Muppet Fans:
Here's a mystery that's been bugging me for years. It's a commercial for Nucoa Margarine that appeared on an album by Negativland, and it features a singer whose only interest is gold. The...
I'm not a seasoned member out here, but I'm glad I found this thread. And I thank you, hooperfan (Sesame Maniac), for bringing these early clips to us. I wasn't alive for the first two seasons, and wasn't conscious for perhaps a few more, but all of this has been quite fascinating so far.
If not...
Far too many clips that haven't resurfaced yet. But here are a few that come to mind:
Street:
a. Any of the episodes when Buffy came to visit and had to stay in Oscar's trash can.
b. Some episodes that included a blind girl named Monica (whom I knew as a kid).
c. Any scenes including...
