Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

I guess we'll have to wait to see them, when they work their way down to more of us. I know there's a handful of s12 episodes I'd like to see.

Sesame Street Classics HBO Max Rollouts

My guess is that if the Workshop is still playing ball with HBO by the time this happens, they will probably focus more on the current end of the catalog, and maybe throw some bones to millennial parents now and then. In the current social climate, where YouTube is essentially setting an...

To briefly revisit a topic from a few weeks ago regarding Gordon Hal: Someone commented today on one of my YT uploads that, according to the Muppet Central Forum, he read that Hal Miller passed away in 2017.

Aside from the age factor, one other distinction between the two Marias was that Sonia is all New Yorican, whereas Carla has more of a Cuban (almost Célia Cruz) kind of vibe. Carla Pinza reminds me of my mom, both my parents being immigrants at the time.

What are you all talking about? https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Sesame_Street_episodes Is it something other than that?

Who was the original Maria, and where can she be seen?

The only one I know Hal was definitely on, because I heard him on it, was the live album.

My constant memory of, and active engagement with the show probably began somewhere around the cusp of Seasons 4 and 5. I know this because the faster, jazzier version of the opening scene music was the first one I remember hearing on every episode. When I first heard of a Gordon on the set, it...

Eh, I guess it's the born and bred New Yorker in me that Buddy and Jim appeal to the most; plenty of Jackie Gleason in my heritage.

Unearthing previously "lost" Sesame Street episodes

You may have a point in terms of some of the content, i.e., some scenes and very long films that would later be abridged and rescored, but as a reference source, it's the very nucleus of the first 10 to 15 years of the show. And, lots of Muppet inserts, many E&B skits among them, would be gone...

Yeah, they made a ton of E&B in those early days. It's funny: Ernie's signature voice wasn't yet settled in the test period, and during the 1st season, Jim's mid-western accent had Ernie saying things like "heem" instead of him.

Have any of the Test Shows 2-5 leaked anywhere, or are they "lost"? Just a thought that occurred to me the other day.

As my general rule, I've learned not to expect tall orders, and maybe I'll be, occasionally, pleasantly surprised.

Another pensive song interpreted by Luis; this one probably stayed back in my innocent subconscious state. But the Lydian feel reminds me of the Raposo waltz that underscored Linda's infamous "Before and After" demonstration, also narrated by Delgado. (As I'm writing, I have the song looping on...

    RIP Emilio Delgado

I would hope that the Workshop would consider releasing more content from at least Delgado's debut season (Season 3, 1971-1972).

    RIP Emilio Delgado

They say he was on the show for 44 years since his debut in 1971 (Season 3), so that probably means that 2015 was his last year as a cast member, and that was 7 years ago. Chances are today's average 4-year-old has never seen him or heard of him.

Sesame Street Classics HBO Max Rollouts

That's awesome to know. I'm visually impaired, and for that reason, I probably spent more time not sitting at the TV, but still paying as much attention to the audio content regardless where I was about the apartment. I know it's a bit harder to do that with older episodes because you can't...
