Good stuff jeffy...my 2 year old daughter loves The Muppet Show too, and actually does impersonations of The Swedish Chef (complete with utensils from her play kitchen) and Beaker!
Glad to see we're raising our kids right, huh?
I shall second minor muppetz list...but I would love to see some real oldies like "Goin' For a Ride", "Everyone Likes Ice Cream" and bits from the very early years.
All in all minor, great list!
I love the bit where they're brushing their teeth (each has only one tooth!) as well as the "Two heads are Better than One" song they perform with Herry...classic stuff!
Good band, good songs...I also like the fact that when PM Dawn used "True" in their song "Set Adrift On Memory Bliss", they featured the guys from Spandau in the video. Good stuff!
Typically, I'll pop in DVD's of shows from my childhood. Old School Sesame Street, Land of the Lost, Sigmund & The Sea Monsters, Scooby Doo or a good Disney movie.
If you've watched the new Pinocchio DVD (or Blu ray disc), you'd see there is a trailer for a new Tinkerbell movie coming straight to video soon called "Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure".
As far as sequels go, depends on the script. The Aladdin sequels were mediocre at best as well as The Lion...
Ah...was a big fan of Darkwing Duck, I even got my pic with him in WDW a few years back. That reminds me...I need to get a scanner! But yeah, love Darkwing Duck...and it is available on DVD.
This idea would work I think. In addition to the shows already mentioned, you could also show all of the great specials featuring both TMS and SS characters, Muppets Tonight, The Jim Henson Hour, The Storyteller etc. Another great addition would be Sam & Friends along with the old commercials...
For me it was Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, Reading Rainbow on PBS...then later on I watched Pinwheel and Today's Special on Nickelodeon. Eureeka's castle came out when I was a Junior in High School. By that time I had my own VCR, so I would program Eureeka and Fred Penner's Place every day and...
Let me start by saying I love Disney...always have, always will. That being said:
As much of a ruthless business man as Eisner is, he was the guy who spearheaded the campaign in the mid 80's to reinvent the company, add 2 more theme parks in Florida, another in California, etc.( He also decided...
I have that show and would gladly trade with you. As I perused through your page, I noticed the Wilkins' Coffee commercials...are those all on one DVD? I have been looking for those for years, and am prepared to trade you a copy of Sing for Wilkins'.
Sound good?
You mean this isn't a day to honor Greg "The Hammer" Valentine? I cannot believe I have been lied to all these years! No wonder my wife thinks I'm nuts as I watch the first 5 WrestleManias every Feb. 14th! Wonder I'm still married!
Love Frank Zappa..."Yellow Snow", "Dinah-Mo'Hum", "Why Does It Hurt When I Pee?"...classic stuff! Frank was an extremely expiremental musician and bold songwriter, clearly ahead of his time.
I am also excited for this movie and agree with Janice that it will be nice to see Disney return to basics. Technology is great, but every once in a while I like to see something that sort of "takes me back, if you will.
