Muppet = marionette + puppet. That would include, I'd say, most every cast member of The Dark Crystal, not to mention Labyrinth. I'm sure Jim thought of them as Muppets just like any other. Sorry to beat a dead horse, or even to argue about it. I hope I'm not arguing.

Sorry...yes, it is September 3rd for DVD release. For some reason, I though this Tuesday was 09.03. Hmm.
I just don't like the first film. I don't think it's very...good. Like, sure it's darkier, edgier, but it comes off as dumber, believe it or not, than the other two. It tries too...
No need to be embarrassed about Davy Jones...well, maybe if it's just him, but The Monkees are nothing to be laughed at. They have such a bad rep! Honest to goodness, they're one of my favorite bands ever. And don't ever be ashamed of any music you like...unless, of course, it's Dave Matthews...
The holes in the theater are created quite simply. The walls, when you walk in, aren't actually real. They're projected against mesh to look like solid walls. Then, during the bang up at the end, the image on the mesh is turned off, letting you see the *real* banged-up walls through the mesh...
*brag brag* I live in Orlando and have been to MV3D countless times. It never, ever, ever gets old. A high point in the creativity of Jim Henson and crew. The pre-show is comedy gold. I'll have to transcribe it sometime for those who have never seen it, maybe.

My bed is graced with a large Ninja Turtles blanket. I love them. Ninja Turtles II (by far the best film) comes out Tuesday on DVD!!! Yes!!! Yes, I love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
G.I. Joe action figures from about '86-90 were the best. Cartoon Network has been showing the series...
It was pretty neat. Gives a little history, lots of footage of the theater, building and the film, etc. The narration was a little uninspired, however ("The Muppets are up to their zany antics again!" blech), but, that's nitpicking. Seriously check it out, especially if you've never seen it...
I was flipping by the Travel Channel just a few minutes ago, and on this special they had about Disney Imagineers was a nice segment all about Muppet Vision 3D. Lots and lots of clips from the film itself, as well as lots of shots of the acutal theater and the live physical effects involved in...
I'm going to do everything in my power to be there. I don't care about school, work or anything else. If it's March, that's my birthday month and that'll be extra rockin'. So, yeah, count on seeing my ugly mug there.

I always liked the really old Bill Cosby thing where he talks about a basketball being round and bouncing. Then he pulls out a square and lets it drop to the ground, then says: "Bad basketball, a square." Priceless.
That and a young James Earl Jones saying the alphabet. Incredible...
I guess that last post was directed at me.
No, I don't think you're a snob. I'm not going to put you in any category. Those were just general observations.
Anyway, I used to really love Weezer. So did bunches and bunches of my friends. Then the new stuff came out, and everyone ran for...
The vibe I'm getting is that true fans have left (like me), snobs either love it or hate it (depending on who they're trying to impress), and the general radio listening public dig it nicely.
