Hey, Barry, I think you mean "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)", right? That is a nice song. I have quite a collection of George Harrison music, myself.
I have an insanely ecletic taste in music. I basically like anything genuine, anything that has soul, or a good sense of humor...
I would agree with Dwayne on this. I am certainly no ardent supporter of Disney, and I think that they have not given the Muppets the place of honor they deserve. However, IMO it is pointless to bicker on about it. We know the situation is not/has not been great for the Muppets. However, there...
Yeah, I too was a big fan of George Harrison. I love his "Concert from Bangladesh", and was fortunate to see it recently on the big screen at a special viewing in the historic theater near my house. :) I can only imagine how incredible it must have been to actually be there for this concert...
Very nice! What an interesting assortment of performers! In addition to the ones you mentioned TotallySpiesFan, the penny whistle player is Paddy Moloney from the great celtic group "The Chieftains." :)
Are there any other clips of FH available for viewing? I found the opening theme here...
Sadly, I do not, since ATP is the one who provided me with most of the album! :( I've been looking for it, but so far no luck.
BUT, I did find a link in which you can download "Fozzie's Muppet Scrapbook" and "Muppet Revue" (these were videos that have been converted to audio).
Here's the...
Hey Kyle,
I'd love a copy of the record version of "Everybody's Song" as well, if it's not too much trouble. And if ATP is still having trouble with his internet, I can send you Bert's Blockbusters, The SS Alphabet Album, and Born to Add in a couple of hours, or maybe less even. Just let me...
Very fresh! Robert DeNiro seems a natural fit for Johnny Fiama. Could this be the first in a gradual series of muppets portrayed by humans? I'd be curious to see who would or could ever portray Animal! :) Actually, an entire Electric Mayhem human cast would be pretty sweet.
LOL! :D Well, was he? Now I'm dying to know. I think he'd have to be, being as obsessive as we all know the Count to be. BTW, why don't we have a Count smilie? That seems like it'd be a good one to have. The tag could be "obsessive-compulsive"
Maybe scary isn't the right word, but I was definitely disturbed as a kid when, in "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street", Big Bird decided to wait on the roof for Santa Claus at night in the cold. I thought he had frozen to death! It was sad and scary at the same time.
Hey, you know I used to have a wart on my finger too, but I didn't freeze it off. I just used this weird acid which burned it off over time. Actually didn't hurt at all. *realizes this is one of those odd conversations he didn't think he would get into...shrugs* :zany:
Yeah, I've read this - I just don't believe they can't find a way to make the theme work. If half of the marriages in the U.S. end in divorce, that means there are a LOT of kids out there who would benefit from this programming. And, if in South Africa they have created an HIV-positive muppet...
To my knowledge, one of the only major areas SS still has not covered is divorce. Speaking as one whose parents separated when I was 4 and divorced when I was 5, I think I really would have benefited from a segment like this as a child. Alas, it wasn't there for me. And it still isn't...
I too really enjoyed reading the interview! It was very insightful, and you asked some excellent questions. :)
One question, MuppetWiki says that Jim Lewis is a former Jim Henson Company staff writer. Is this merely because the muppets were sold to Disney? I do hope he remains involved.
Well, I'm not sure. Maybe people have just been busy lately. Or maybe you're right, and I'm just being optimistic. :(
I guess JHC has taken quite a few hits over the years. Sooner or later, however, I think that interest will resurface more noticeably. Puppets are such a vital way that...
Doesn't really matter, though I suppose I was thinking more of people that we haven't met before, since we all share some common knowledge about many of those people. But you know, feel free to interpret the question as you see fit.
I think it's interesting to see people's responses so far...
I completely agree. It's really a quite unique process, isn't it? Acting, sure, but so much more than simply acting. I don't think there's anything in the world quite like it, which I suppose, is partly why so many of us are obsessed with the magic of puppetry, and the muppets in particular...
