Aw, I like Brian's Telly. He has a lot of emotional honesty with the character.
Maybe we just haven't seen enough of him to fully judge, while there's 20+ years of Marty as Telly readily availible to us.
Keep in mind, these were produced for foreign markets, which do childrens programming much differently. I mean, even now, look at Cartoon Network and how they handle new episodes of Steven Universe or Teen Titans Go - they show new 11 minute episodes, not new 22 minute ones.
I understand letting those characters retire because of Richard. But, like, Sonny Friendly was apparently not sacred enough to be recasted the following season. And even then, it took them over a decade later to realize, "Hey, David took over a couple of Richard's Sesame characters. Why not do...
That article's from 2016. They must've considered the first season of 52 episodes two seasons of 26 episodes, thus considered the same with the second season.
I don't think we'll see any more of it. 52 episodes is a lot for a kids' series (even if they're only 11 minutes).
Nothing new but the street story (the H - Holiday film was originally used on the PBS airing of the recent Christmas special).
I guess it was okay - that new Elmo puppet is a little freaky. It's nice Telly had a larger role, though Marty's age and abilities are starting to show.
Really, the...
According to Craig Shemin, the narration wasn't a part of the original airing or or original master of the special; it was added for the ABC broadcast. And they couldn't find the original recordings of the narration, so they couldn't properly mix it with the older master they were probably...
I'm a bit weary. If Jim himself couldn't make TDC work, I don't know if the production team behind Alt/Reality & The Happytime Murders will be able to.
Yeah, something was definitely up with that Gonzo puppet. Dave's age/abilities might also have been a factor (see the 2016 Macy's Parade opening for similar results).
I thought it was...eh. Came off mostly awkward and not all that humorous (like, what was up with that Freddy Mercury bit?)...
Stephanie has totally made Prairie her own and it's fabulous. And Gladys the Cow is always welcome.
It seemed odd that Jen primarily did Gladys while someone else was clearly doing Zoe's puppetry. Wouldn't it be better to do the character with more dialogue?
Yeah, if the story had more room to breathe, it would've been just fine. And hey, Herry! People like that guy!
The bit with KMK was good; I wish it had a punchline instead of the shoehorned "N is for newspaper" thing. And what happened to the music? It was in the YT version they posted earlier...
