Jim Henson Idea Man
Remember the life. Honor the legacy. Inspire your soul. The new Jim Henson documentary "Idea Man" is now streaming exclusively on Disney+.
Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
It's labeled internally, I believe, as a season 1 skit. I've seen some examples of a new version of something superseding the old one's production code in some materials.
I don't get this thing of putting them up online before they air. They're paying millions of dollars for the airtime, while the web is free, and it takes the fun out of seeing them for the first time.
I'm sure it's related to the 50th anniversary somehow. They've always prided themselves on the celebrities that have appeared and it's a fine way of showcasing it.
Educational-wise, I dislike Smart Cookies the most because every segment is the same educational goal (stop and think). The Crumby Pictures and Foodie Truck bits each all have the same theme, but each individual bit of each has a different, specific thing to teach. Smart Cookies was the exact...
Well the thing is that the audio from the Paley Center viewing stations comes from the headphones, not speakers. So, whoever recorded those obviously had their headphones on, preventing any real audio from being captured.
All in all, a foolish idea from all fronts.
Would've been really lame if Oscar weren't involved.
The Andy Grammer song might be my favorite this season (aka the only good one so far).
I'll admit, I kinda skip around the Foodie Truck bits. The only really funny parts are Gonger's reaction to Cookie screwing up again.
I'm pretty sure Rick wasn't involved in the creation of Avenue Q. He had worked with the composers for that Kermit Prince of Denmark thing they had done previously, so they went to him again to help develop the puppets for AQ; all the early stuff was already conceived of at that point probably...
I'm not sure I'd want another coffee table book - the 40th anniversary one was as fan-pleasing as possible and I don't know what they could do to make one less redundant.
Maybe it was a rights thing. They can air it still, but not stream it.
Wish I knew why all the Joe Raposo tracks were cut though. The deal seemed rather hasty so they might not have been able to negotiate in time.
That's a good question. I assume they scaled back the human cast for similar reasons they narrowed the Muppet cast - there were just too many to keep track of (maybe a budget thing too).
I'm sure they wanted to keep a Hispanic human around, hence Nina (poor Mando, gone too soon). But frankly...
Meh. Nice to have Ernie and some Grover/Mr. Johnson interaction. That song was really lousy though.
One of my friends worked on that laundromat film, I believe (out in Georgia).
And I'm just now noticing Valencia from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was in that clothesline song from years ago.
