Precisely. It's very obvious when something is dubbed. For EIG, Frank seemed to only be there for the various interjections from Ernie and Bert (which seem to me like they were put in late in the process to help quell kids' fears during uneasy/scary moments).

We've been looking into it and haven't come across it yet in an episode. It's possible it might not have aired; the imagery is extremely surreal. And it also uses Frank Sinatra's version of the song, which they might have had trouble getting the rights to in the end.
Yeah, it's all kinda weird. The actual season premiere worked fine as a Big Bird-centric story and set up the recurring series/theme of the season. The episode introducing Charlie worked as a "hey, new character and also meet all the other character" type of episodes they've done before. And...
One of the more anticipated episodes of the season, and I guess it was a little lower than my expectations.
I get why they don't care about continuity anymore, but it was nice that they acknowledged some of the cosmetic changes directly. I'm not gonna complain about how Elmo and Abby should...
Judging from some clips that have been shared officially on their site or YouTube, it seems fair to say that they might have reels of the raw street scene footage. But it probably wasn't super known to them which episodes they were lacking.

But that was very cute. It's nice to see all the characters involved (especially Baby Bear! His mom works there, makes sense he does too). Feels a little less structured than the average late night show, but they try to cram a lot into 15...
The "prom night-night" was no doubt intentional; they did a cast reuniting night awhile back, so this isn't dissimilar.
