It's more than two cases. Steve was, apparently, not at the D23 thing either, even though Bill, Dave, and Eric were, the 3 main guys now that Jerry is officially retired, from the muppet show muppets anyway.
I think Disney just has it out for Steve.
Wow...that...was bad. This guy really does stink as Kermit, I'm sorry he just does.
Honestly, Disney couldn't find a better Kermit than this guy? Any one of the current performers could do a better Kermit. Of course, there wasn't exactly much material to work with during this appearance...
Post them now!
Some pictures are already posted here. http://themuppetmindset.blogspot.com/2009/09/breaking-news-from-disney23-expo.html
It looks more like a modern Kermit and seems to have more of a skeletal structure in the jaw. I'm not sure if I would say it looks better, but it does look...
Yeah, MTI was much more muppety. If they had gone with the original idea of Gonzo and Rizzo playing Jim and Hawkins it could have been down right perfect, though I do get why they didn't go that route.
I guess christmas gives people a reason to watch MCC. What we need is some kind of pirate...
I'd like to see this footage as well.
From what I saw there was no "magic". Kermit and Piggy barely interacted during this. Piggy was singing to Kermit, but Kermit seemed to be looking off to the side of Piggy and at the end when Piggy tried to interact with Kermit and ad lib, Kermit stayed...
If I need a payment plan to buy a muppet replica then I am not buying a muppet replica.
For Rizzo, I think anything over 300 would be too much. Look at how long it took Kermit to sell out and he was under 300. And that's KERMIT!
If they can make Rizzo look like the prototype they may be...
I actually think it would have been funnier with Gonzo and Piggy. Kermit and Piggy doing this was flat and not really funny. I mean, am I the only one that doesn't think random chickens is automatically funny anymore?
I think during the muppet show years there was the friction but by the time of Muppet Family Christmas and the like the frog had certainly given in. The friction was brought back during the Steve years. My guess is that it was done to, as you said, make them more interesting and to keep things...
The mobile lab is not totally pre-programed. There is a lot of live interaction, though some parts are pre-programmed with Dave and Steve and I think all of Beakers stuff is pre-programmed.

I'm pretty sure that the person doing the live stuff is...
I have to say that I detest when people try to evoke Jim Henson's name when they try to make a point. We are allowed to dislike a performance and no one should have to apologize for not liking this one. Also, I don't feel that we should be happy that someone who posts here got to perform...
We accept other recasts for various reasons.
With Piggy and Fozzie we all knew Frank Oz was stepping back from the muppets. So, when Eric took over we were mostly happy. One, he's darn good, two it was either Eric or Piggy and Fozzie being reduced to small cameos, and three Frank helped...
First off it's Eric Jacobson. Second, he saved Piggy and Fozzie from disappearing. Frank Oz started to move away from the muppets during the Jim Henson Hour years. Notice how none of the characters on the Jim Henson Hour were Frank's, he only did guest spots. That when Jim Henson was alive...
That did not in anyway sound more like Jim Henson's Kermit. There was a slight Jim quality to the voice, but not his Kermit voice. Also, I don't care what the voice sounds like if the puppetry is bad, which it was. It was SOOOO bad. Plus the guy can't sing.
I'm not a huge fan of Steve's...
But the Kermit is 10% smaller than the Kermit puppet. So if people are looking at Rizzo next to Kermit and thinking he looks too big, then it is partly due to the MR Kermit being 10% smaller than the puppet, and people are comparing the replicas' scale to the scale of the puppets.
From what I have heard the reporter Kermit is suppose to be actual size where as the MR replica was 10% smaller, which would also account for Rizzo looking too big. As for Reporter Kermit cheapening the first replica, to be fair the first one isn't exactly skyrocketing in value. Pretty much...
You should know that the thread title is horribly misleading as I thought this was some sort of news about GMC being back in theaters only to find out it's nothing of the sort.
