Hii ev'rybahdy!
Thanks for your interest Beaker. I like to work in a lot of different mediums, mostly video but also computer games, animation, poetry/short stories/song lyrics, film, puppetry ... I can...
Noel was bear? Wow, that's the main character of the show! He got loads of merchandise made from him!
I always wanted to know what happened to Noel.
Apparently he made good.
Very cool.
Anyone have a page of background info about him?
Just wondering if any of the talented amateur puppetmakers and puppeteers here were living close to Los Angeles. I'm fond of puppets, and like performing them, but don't own any Muppetlike creations ... I am not that great at building things, though I've certainly tried on many occasions and...
Hi, my name is Garrett Gilchrist, I'm 21 years old, a new member. Grew up as a Muppet fan. My father Guy and his brother Brad did the Muppets comic strip for newspapers in the 80s, so I was exposed to a lot of Muppetry ...
I am currently a struggling young filmmaker in Los Angeles. I have...
This limit is lame. I know I can read an entire thread and make a post in under a minute, and having to wait two more minutes because the forum tells me to is incredibly annoying, and forced me to post less.
If flamers want to flame, they will flame. 1 post is far more deadly than 100 ...
Clifford looked much, much, much better in the Jim Henson Hour ... as just about everyone did. The Muppets Tonight version was a real letdown for me and one reason why it didn't work ... the JHH one had this Electric Mayhem vibe.
You referenced the Rutles, Grail ... I think I love you.
Um, anyway, I never liked Muppets Tonight and don't know the new characters. I didn't even see Muppets from Space. I ADORE the Jim Henson Hour and am amazed that people don't remember Leon ... he was a Fraggle like Dinosaur ... thing...
My father worked for Henson and got to meet the Muppets, even go to the White House with them ... but myself I don't think I ever got to meet Jim sadly ... I had a memory of meeting Kevin Clash and posted here about it, but I think it was my mind messing with me. I am editing this post now ...
I love digit. Always did, as a kid. He never scared me ... although as a pale human character, he certainly had scare potential, he was just always so confused and obviously harmless. Yes, a definite Christopher Lloyd knockoff, but a great design I'd like to see again. He'd make a good partner...
I taped the special off of Nick and still have it. It was uncut. I wasn't even aware that it had BEEN cut until reading it on this site, and am shocked and angry.
The Snowman routine and Statler and Waldorf singing were some of my favorite parts of the special, and still stick with me today...
It occurs to me that somewhere round here I also have the original opening sequence to the Muppet Babies show, as aired on CBS. It's a lot longer than the later airings and has a whole verse where all the characters introduce each other ("I like adventure, I like romance, I love great jokes...
My dad had every Muppet item on the planet, but the one I stole was Michael Frith's Style Guide. A big yellow book explaining how to draw every character from the series. Wonderful.
I have copies of the original British masters, my dad used them as reference, he's the guy who did the Muppet comic strip. But they're on Beta. Watched them to death when I was a kid, a lot of the tapes are messed up now but will probably still play if anyone has a beta player ... I don't...
I've got a really bad quality copy of it somewhere. Along with the only Henson Hours I have (soldier and death, lighthouse island, dog city, Miss Piggy's Hollywood) .... but I'm sure you could do better.
