Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I've grown to love Beauregard so much since I choose it that even started signing stuff, "Matt B Regard" instead of my real middle/last names for a while at one stage of my life (probably the much more MC-ly Active stage). If I had to change it, I'd probably go by either "Matt B Regard" or...
(OOC 1: Nell/Alex, the point of MopFam is never to feel pressure to be here or to add extra stress to your life in any way! It is a stress-relief game, not an added burden! If you get time to pop in and play, then we always LOVE IT! When you're too busy, don't worry! These character live on even...
Well, I think that's really a sort of inside, nudge-wink joke to the fact that on the show Kermit performs that tap-dancing number and you never see his feet (He's a puppet!) and its amazingly clever performing...on the record, its just a song. I think its less a joke and more of a, "Hey...
Because that worked so well for Miss Piggy in MFS? *ahem*
EDIT: Actually, scratch that, because she and Sam were both BRILLIANT in MTI and that was the same situation...
Haha. You may need to get that looked at... But, at least you'll be able to quote the movie word-for-word and will be our go-to-girl for questions about the movie!
"In which scene do you see the most of Sweetums?"
"What did Miss Piggy say to Poogy the first time they met?"
"Who is Muppet Man's...
I do know the feeling. When I was a kid, my sister and I watched Treasure Island (not the Muppet one, the normal one) pretty much every night for a month, read the book three times each, and then acted in a play of it!
SO! My theory is that if they take out a Human arc (Both Gary and Mary had stories relating to their personal issues) then there will be space for a few more Muppet arcs!
Bea:zany:{Unlike the Muppet Ark which was in MFS}regard
I think they said that they wanted to include Robin in the first movie, but that adding him would have meant yet another "moving piece" to the story, when there were already so many plotlines (same reason that Rizzo and Pepe were basically not there). The movie already has so many (very well...
And if we're bringing more of Robin and Sweetums, why not bring Robin AND Sweetums TOGETHER in a scene, the way they have been there best time after time!
Jerry Nelson is just such a phenomenal performer, with an amazing focal range. His Uncle Deadly has been an all-time favorite of mine, and his performance of Floyd is always stunning (as well as the many, many characters he picked up in MTI. Blind Pew is AMAZING.) Also, The Count is the only...
Yeah, but also, remember how irritating it is/was/can be waiting for the movie when you see a teaser that early on? I feel like I've been waiting for Brave for YEARS.
At one point I felt it was manditory for the Muppets to have some sort of show-scene with card-board cutouts as the finale act (TMM, MTM and now The Muppets!) I also used to think that a Miss Piggy fantasy was a prerequisite after she had Never Before, the Swim-suit scene and then Always Love You.
I'm not sure about best -- for me, her worst (recent) outfit is the black-dress with buckle, or the green-shimmery thing that she sometimes wears.
Best recent dress, maybe what she wore for her appearance on Craig Ferguson? That was nice! In fact, most of her recent dresses have been very nice.
I guess it may have something to do with the fact that he's a frog, who used to live in a Swamp where snakes would have been a real threat. Of course in New York, not so much...
D'oh! Its the Anvil that threw me off. I was thinking of a picture of him where he's taller, with a brush. Aww...He's so awesome. Also, "Between Lew Zealand and Link Hogthrob, just under Scooter" sounds like a description of his importance in terms of character as well. He gets less lines and...
