I allowed myself to actually get drunk last night (which is a rare occurrence; I may have a glass of wine with dinner, and very very rarely a mixed drink, but to actually feel inebriated is unusual) and wound up having a very nice dream. First one I can recall in, oh...when was...

You should get down there. They need a reporter to cover the game.
:news: Isn't that Lewis' job? I don't do sports.
Rhonda *snorts, nose buried in the June issue of 'FeMole'* Like THAT wasn't already obvious.
:news: I hope you're not implying I'm unathletic! I work out, you...

Fun! I particularly like the "panic, sirens, destruction" line. Yes...Skeeter and Red becoming friends might lead to injuries, since both are so competitive they don't know the meaning of the phrase "friendly contest"...
More!

NICE!
You have a talent for a well-turned phrase: the "furiously clean" hallway, "motherly frills with a dash of power"...striking and original.
Likewise, your plotting is excellent. Suspense without melodrama, well done. Is this abandoned baby a piglet? Some other Muppet...

By the lit mag comment, I meant merely that nearly 99% of the entries we editors received for the school lit mag were every bit as forced, purple, and melodramatic as the piece Charlene is creating! That's even funnier that you weren't going for the reject-pile style with it...

*giggling maniacally at the "Raven" performance art*
Rowlf's "Have we met?" is a topper. As is Gonzo's risque blackbird joke. Wonderful! Of course I enjoyed Scooter's date and budding romance...but I'm a sucker for the yolks, folks. WELL done!
Sure, do your own MS about...

Ed...this is lovely. Thank you!!! :news:
Now I'll have to look up the song; it's been a long time since I've seen either the animated Alice or the Muppet Show version. (Easily 20 years or more for both.) I love how you've depicted the whole scene...what a lazily dreamy afternoon...

Extra points for spotting the Firefly joke, folks...
And for those of you who don't know the song, or who just want to hear that golden oldie again, here it is. Please let me know if I spelled the chorus properly. ;)...
Part Thirty-Six (II)
The hens backed off once Camilla sat upright, though still woozy. “Brawww,” she mumbled, blinking through what seemed a haze at the TV screen, where a commercial for Mr Bog’s Nose Wax espoused the benefits of keeping one’s beak shiny. She kept blinking, trying to clear her...
Part Thirty-Six (I)
“Plaicezz, people! Whair ees mah caffeh!”
“So I says to him, ‘You sure got nice teeth –‘”
“T-try swallowing m-me tonight, you wretch! Hah! S-spiked armor!”
“Well, that’s cool, meeting a celebrity...but did you ever hear about the time a songwriter tried to mail me to...

Hah -- great stuff!! I'm actually helping host a Muppet party soon, where we'll be watching the new movie (for the first time, for a few guests) and have been seeking Muppet party goods. Not going to the UK for 'em, but hey, nice to know they exist! I remember having a Kermit...
*tapping foot* Yeah you BETTER. Better write one too!
Rhonda: Cut the ghoul some slack.
Why? 'Cause it's daylight, which weakens his powers? Hmf.
:news: *breaks down in giggle fit*
Rhonda: 'Cause...'cause....uh...never mind. I can't think of anything.
:news: Well, he DID bring coffee...

A Feynman fan! Very cool. I had a high school chem and physics teacher who was very much like Feynman. Gave me a love of science I've never shaken.
Very into poet Billy Collins these days. He seems genuine, whereas for some reason most male poets strike me as very full of...

Hoppity Hops! Yeah! Wow...how about a Sit'n'Spin? Or a Green Machine? Man, any kid in my neighborhood who had an actual Green Machine to cruise the block on was the bomb...hah!
Shrinky Dinks. Still going strong.

What day, Vincent?
BTW I can't see your name without thinking BOTH of the "Beauty & the Beast" show AND the song by Don McLean...

I've been experimenting lately. I rarely use recipies although I'll read them for inspiration. Example: wanted autumn food badly this week, so I threw together some chicken, tri-color potatoes, carrots, sweet onion, and garlic and roasted them for an hour in cranberry-apple butter...
