After hearing Ryan's Elmo several times now, you'd think I wouldn't be caught off guard by how much it resembles Kevin's, especially here. O_O
Incidentally, I'm curious as to how some of the puppeteers (the English-speakers anyway) are able to understand, let alone, carry a conversation with...
I misread "Original Trailers" the first time, thinking that it meant trailers for other movies. :o It took me to look at the Disney Movies page for me to realize that indeed this release will include original Muppet Movie ads! The page also mentions "Outtake Easter Eggs" which probably means...
And the Emmys go to...
Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series: Kevin Clash as Elmo
Outstanding Directing in a Children's Series: Ken Diego, Kevin Clash, Joey Mazzarino, Matt Vogel
Outstanding Writing in a Children’s Series: Joey Mazzarino, Molly Boylan, Annie Evans, Christine Ferraro...
I'd say more so Dil Pickles/Scrappy-Doo syndrome, but that's probably what you meant. People complain about SpongeBob tanking after the first three seasons, but at the very least, I'd give them credit for lasting this long without shamelessly shoehorning a new major character.
That's what I'm...
Admittedly I had that mentality when I was 14, and thought The X's was a knock-off of The Incredibles (Remember The X's??? I knew you didn't. :p)
I'm not wild about what I've seen so far, but I may give this new show a chance. I doubt that it's going to have much rewatchability or become very...
On a slightly related note, I've noticed that within the last couple years they've been using "Disney" more frequently than "Walt Disney" on their animated idents and DVD covers.
I wouldn't go so far as to say they're erasing Walt's name, but it still strikes me as pretty generic =/
Wait, so this "new" Cookie Monster segment is going to have him play a secret agent? It sure sounds like Munchin: Impossible, and if it's believed to be that, those shorts may finally see the light of day :insatiable:
Never mind, on both counts. Apparently, there is going to be a seperate DVD issue (which will probably be a reprint of the last DVD release, like MCC was), and there will be new bonus features! StitchKingdom reported that the Blu-Ray will include "Frog-E-Oke," (my, what a clunky title) which...
Huh. The cover looks like a weird combo of the original film poster and this horrendous French DVD cover. Still, I am glad so many Muppets made it on the cover (though I'm perplexed as to why Statler and Waldorf are there).
I'm a little worried about the seemingly soon release date and the...
I didn't prepare a tribute drawing for today, but I still thought I'd talk about a facet of Jim Henson that at the moment I find most intriguing about him.
As I was writing, a flood of Muppety memories that touch a rather sensitive nostalgic nerve came coming back (videos, audio tapes, etc.)...
Not bad. I agree that the voice is pretty close. The puppetry itself I don't see as a problem, considering Kevin did a lot of wacky schtick with Elmo early on.
If Muppet Central is the "they" you're referring to, we did discuss a potential recast for Elmo on another thread.
With that said, I agree that I'll wait and see how this guy blends in. He's got a nice character name, so he should be a fine, if not highly anticipated, addition to the cast.
Apparently, this new Peanuts movie will be in CGI... and no, I'm not going to jump the "CGI sux" bandwagon since it seems like the only reason people are crapping on it is because it's so mainstream in films nowadays. For me, it's a matter of whether it will be done right.
As long as the movie...
I didn't think the artwork from the 2005 DVD was bad either, so if they reuse it again, I guess I wouldn't mind that much. The Blu-ray will most likely have some new content and (hopefully) some old content as well. I know that's wishful thinking, but at the very least, they could dig up The...
