Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Yeah, I noticed when watching Part 2 of "I Want My Muppet TV," scenes were cut out, like when Animal played with Kermit's skin color with the television knob, or Animal's show about dirt was cut shorter. But, to cut a whole song out? As Kermit would say, "Sheesh!"
Well, I currently have one that I've been wanting to hear, but can't at the moment and I guess that's what inspired this topic. But, in truth, they're basically all awesome!
Sure!
Kermit
Piggy
Gonzo
Fozzie
Scooter
Skeeter (Scooter's twin sister created only for the show)
Rowlf
Animal
Bunsen
Beaker
Robin (Kermit's nephew made an appearance in one episode)
And in later seasons:
Bean Bunny
Janice
Statler
Waldorf
Statler and Waldorf were referred to as 'Uncle' by...
The 90's had some good weekly afternoon shows. What about "Tiny Toon Adventures," "Batman: The Animated Series," "Animaniacs," or even the Disney Afternoon time slot? It seems as though all the good stuff moved from Saturday morning to the afternoon during the week. I was fortunate to get off...
Welcome, MUPPETNEWSMAN! And yeah, I played the "I Don't Want to Live on the Moon" skit over at YouTube and got misty-eyed with it. I don't get so upset over "The Rainbow Connection" as before, but it is one of my favorites to listen to.
The ep I watched today, "The Great Muppet Cartoon Show" has a fun song called "We Love Cartoons." Seeing all the classic 20's/30's b&w cartoon clips was fun to watch, too.
I recently watched "Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue" at YouTube. Oh, whoa, it was an instant flashback to my childhood! It's cheesy in a lot of ways, but it worked for its time. I loved seeing all of my favorite characters rolled into one show. Er, however, the pressuring from them about "Drugs...
I'm glad members got some episodes up over at YouTube. I watched "The Great Muppet Cartoon Show" and "Where No Muppet Has Gone Before" today. If anyone forgot what those eps were about, the first is the kids become cartoonists and make a lot of flip books. The second one is in homage to...
This wasn't on SS, but on TMS about aging quickly. It was about this scientist trying all these potions and singing Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle" throughout it. The potions make him younger and younger until the last one puts him back to his current age. I liked that skit for two reasons. One...
That is so true! There was one I read in memorable quotes at IMDb where Grover is a taxi driver and Fat Blue wants to go to the library. After a whole argument of Grover suggesting other places and ticking him off, he admits his taxi cab is broken! See, that kind of stuff gets annoying when...
Yes, and it would also seem appropriate for Brian to perform Jen in this movie. The pictures are awesome, I cannot wait to see this in the theater. Usually, we wait till it comes to DVD, but there are some movies you have to watch on the big screen. It helps give the full effect.
I've always felt the staircases were just the end of the game Jareth was playing with Sarah. A lot of trickery to make it harder for her to go after what she's been wanting from the start. Every movie with good versus evil has to have a final showdown, and what better way to do it than to tease...
Awww, Sang, I remember you showing me that Kira costume. It's soooo adorable! And Misfit Toy, your Penguin costume is awesome! I go to the San D Con every single year and probably saw your group! My sister is involved with a 60's Batman ensemble. She goes as Julie Newmar's Catwoman. :)
I've been without decent sound for weeks, or when I had to reformat my computer in late May, it did something to my sound card and I couldn't hear things clearly. There'd be hissing and white noise coming out of my speakers. With that, I couldn't watch any clips over at YouTube.
But, just last...
Wasn't sure where to post this topic, so I decided to put it in here! Last Saturday was both busy and a blast for my mom, sister and I, and I wanted to share a few tidbits...Muppet-related, of course.
Our first adventure was the trek to Beverly Hills to visit the "It's Alive!" exhibit at the...
Plus, the book is actually more darker and violent than I expected when I first read it! I happened to like the books; I managed to read all 14 of Baum's originals several years ago. As for Disney, they stuck very close to the second and third books for "Return to Oz" and it's become one of my...
That'll have the same effect on anyone at any age. Watching a fictional character and a human comes out from under it is a bit hard to take in. We all know there's people in the costumes, it's just the illusion or fantasy of it that slightly gets taken away when we see that sort of thing. I...
Some of the sketches that bugged me were ones like of the game shows with Guy Smiley, Grover as the waiter with Fat Blue, or the Anybody People that did various skits. As a kid, they bugged me because I got bored with some of those. I'll watch them now and enjoy them, but I cared more about Bert...
