Nothing at all, huh? What a shame. They did bring out some old favorite Muppet characters though, right? I know Biff and Sully have made at least one or two appearances lately.
We loved seeing appearances by some of our most beloved long-term veteran cast members in the 50th Anniversary Special. A few of them actually had featured songs or scenes, while others only appeared with the rest of the cast for the opening and closing numbers. Who would you like to have seen...
Hi! Forgive me if this has been discussed elsewhere. I have a lot of catching up to do with both the forum and my knowledge of the last few seasons, but please humor me...
I loved the 50th Anniversary special and seeing some of our beloved veteran human cast members make appearances in it...
Bryan: Hey, Ernie. Bert and I are going out to the store. I have some oatmeal cookies I made for Cookie Monster. Would you mind wrapping them up to send over to him. His birthday was recent and I had forgotten. I feel so bad.
Ernie: Sure thing, Bryan!
Bert: Oatmeal cookies? Hunky dory...
I’ve noticed that many times when a performer retires/dies their character gets re-designed somehow for the replacement performer. Particularly, I’ve noticed this recently with The Count, Elmo and Oscar. When the new performer takes over, they get a new puppet and the design is significantly...
I love seeing the different cast photos that Sesame has released over the years. I feel like I’ve only ever seen the same (maybe) 6 of them. I loved seeing them...and I’m talking about the human cast and some of the Muppets together, not the ones that included the puppeteers in them and the...
I grew up watching him. He was a true entertainer who loved his work.
He didn’t work with the Muppets much. Just a couple of appearances by them on his show (I loved when Jim Henson brought Kermit on the chat with him and Joy). However, it would have been so fun to see Regis do a bit with...
Well, remember Bert’s gimmick is that he’s dull and nerdy and gets excited over things typically not exciting. So his energy doesn’t always lend himself to work as well on his own compared to the more energetic, wide-eyed, happy-go-lucky Ernie who probably was more relatable to the kids. But...
Yeah, you see Ernie paired up with a lot more other characters besides Bert, whereas I can’t even think of a time when it was Bert and someone other than Ernie. If so, he would obviously play a similar role to Prairie as the foil to the kookier characters which was usually one of his other...
Yeah...I mean, its a decent theory in terms of design, but Cookie Monster has always been pretty popular, if in bigger waves than others. He's just very lovable and endearing.
I can understand what you mean. A lot of it also can have to do with the way the show’s style has changed in recent years. Bert’s character has changed somewhat too. He seems more kid like that he used to, as well. He’s still Bert, but his energy is a little different. Not bad, just how it...
I LOVED IT! I agree with what a few people said...it has a Muppets Tonight feel showing the hustle and bustle behind the scenes of putting on a tv show. Elmo was great & Cookie was hilarious. I was pleasantly surprised by Baby Bear’s appearance as I feel like he’s been a rare sight these...
I think one of the reasons Cookie was chosen to be the sidekick is because he is a natural when it comes to playing off celebrities. He is funny and does well off the cuff in conversation. I think Telly also would have been good in this role about 10 years ago when the character was given more...
This might be too soon to enquire about, but I’m always pleasantly surprised by the folks here... anyone have mp3s of any of the musical moments from the SS 50th Anniversary Special...especially “Bein’ Green” and/or the classic songs medley???
Thanks, friends! 😄
Dude, this is amazing! I’ve actually been hoping to get the proper songs from Elmo Saves Christmas...I wouldn’t mind Maya’s narration in it either but i think the album released for that special didn’t even include all the songs but did have a bunch of random stuff. And Don’t Eat the Pictures...
Does anyone have a mp3 of “Gotta Get Wet” by Bob and Herry Monster?
P.S. with so many changes of computers and crashed hard drives over the last few years, I have lost some songs. So I may be asking for quite a bit soon. Ed, I expect you have tons at this point. 😋
