    Sesame's 35th season kicks off with a prime-time special

Well, the show starts in half-an-hour and, according to my guide, will be brought to you by the letter "C" and the number "10." Hmm. And for the Mister Rogers fans around here, the 2003 documentary "Mister Rogers: America's Favorite Neighbor" will air immediately after it.

    Sesame's 35th season kicks off with a prime-time special

And those old clips are exactly what I'm psyched about.

    Sesame's 35th season kicks off with a prime-time special

I do have a feeling that Elmo will somehow ruin this show for me, but I'm psyched anyway.

Interesting... Kid label in with Henson April 2, 2004 3:14pm Daily Variety LONDON --- Preschool specialist HIT Entertainment has signed a five-year distribution pact with Jim Henson, increasing the prospects of its plan to launch a dedicated digital children's channel in the U.S. The...

When does the Disney deal take effect?

    >>Did they actually say the physical "Muppets" would be moved to the Burbank lot or did they just mean it in a business sense?<< I meant that figuratively. I don't even understand how the Disney/Muppet Workshop thing will work. >>And why the heck couldnt Disney but all of JHC and have it a...

When does the Disney deal take effect?

They will do that, depending on when it's final. And no one at Disney and/or Henson has said anything yet, and I don't know if they will.

When does the Disney deal take effect?

His question didn't really sound that specific, but that's a good one anyway. I did call JHC a few weeks ago though and they'll keep the Kermit/Chaplin statue and other Muppets memoribillia laid out throughout the property. So while the Muppets will move to Disney's Burbank lot, remnants of...

When does the Disney deal take effect?

From yesterday's HIT announcement: >>The deal does not include titles involving the Muppets or Bear in the Big Blue House, the rights to which were recently acquired by The Walt Disney Company. Best known as creators of the world famous Muppets (the rights to which are now owned by The...

JHC and HIT establish worldwide distribution and production venture

Exactly what I was thinking, which is why I can understand (to a certain extent) why they might not want to use it. But since "Jim Henson" is technically not owned by a corporate foe, why not use it? At least it'll really only affect the merchandise.

JHC and HIT establish worldwide distribution and production venture

So the Henson Family/Legacy, not the Company, own the "Jim Henson" brand name and logo? Well, in that case, there's no excuse.

JHC and HIT establish worldwide distribution and production venture

Why? I don't see why just because Kermit is in these Henson-owned specials and SS/FR stars are in these now Disney-owned Muppet specials, that they have to dramatically cut these things up. I can understand why Disney could not use the "Jim Henson" brand name, but not this. If there's any Henson...

JHC and HIT establish worldwide distribution and production venture

Yeah, and they probably got "The Christmas Toy" as well because it's pretty much the same situation. And I bet you, if "The Muppet Musicians of Bremen" didn't have the word "Muppet" in the title, Henson would have kept it too, for Kermit is the only major character in there.

Sesame Street on The Today Show (March 31)

I was just lucky that I have a radio show to listen to on-line, or I would have missed the tip as well. Because most of the time, we find out that a Muppet will come on "Today" just minutes before they come on.
