Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
The new episodes don't have that subversive caustic streak the original ones did, but they are definately more tight in the writing.
and Lester the Possum! I realize they are throwing new anything muppets at us every week, but sometimes they stick. Lester the Possum to me is the best new...
And you'd have me too! It'd be quite spiffy and rad to meet all of you who have come onto MC since 2001! I think no matter where it'd be held, it's be a pretty fun and exciting geek out adventure.
Yeah a Hensonfest would be pretty awkward, given they seem to be heavy on history revisionism. The closest we may ever see I believe will be a Muppet themed day at a Disney theme park...and, if that happens, will Muppet fans from all over attend? I know I'd be there, wherever it'd be held...
I agree, the Muppets will always be around; as long as mankind is around. It doesn't matter who owns em in the long run.
You can split em up, pretend Sesame Street is sepertate from Fraggle Rock from the Muppet Show...bu tthey are all Muppets and always will be.
Just the fact we're...
Simply brilliant. It had all the wacky random offbeat stuff I love about the Muppets. Maybe the new years resolution of the writers was no more lame episodes? The S&W around the world was simply glorious.
I'm with Frogboy4, I don't think the loss of Where in the World is Kermit or a quick on the fly xmas special was neccesarily a bad thin. The corporate shuffle on the Muppet Holding Company is troubling, and shows the extent of the post Eisner house cleaning Iger is willing to do.
As for just...
I agree, Japanese in the last half decade has gotten pretty big in Japan(tho sadly the Muppets have been MIA in the rising sun) And absolutely: Muppet fandom and love in Europe is not only viable; it's still 1989 over there. Here in America? Muppet fandom is still very much underground. Heck...
The day it says "Disney's Muppets" on the packaging, then we can proclaim the death of the Muppets and call upon Crazy Harry to issue a jihad fatwa on Disney...I mean a boycott.
The Muppets will be around forever in one form or another just like Sesame Street, were just kind of in the...
I can understand Sesame Street, but what's the point of a geo-centric Muppet show? A French Muppet show...hmmm. I could see maybe a Euro Muppet Show with a whole new set of characters, but the Muppet Show should have a broad appeal. At any rate, in America Muppet fans still have'nt seen most of...
I agree, the earlier episodes were priceless: edgy, caustic and spot on. Plus Pepe was in em'. Well, there really was no Muppet holiday outings this year...so I guess this will have to do. I see they are reaching into the Muppets Tonight anything muppet box once again for the episode. whose...
No kidding. Muppetfandom seems to be the only fandom online where you don't really have people enthusiasticly putting clips online(even temporarily) In most areas of fandom for anything, even for particular actors, you'll see people posting clips within hours of a tv appearence. Actually, to be...
Now before ya automatically gag ath the idea of more overtly cutesy SS merch, I can attest that some of this stuff is pretty cool. Especially the OScar merch, which has this very camoflauge meets 70's art style that's pretty swank. So yeah, Sanrio put in a whole Sesame aisle.
So...when are the Sesame figures coming out exactly? They are kind of messing up by missing out on the post xmas shopping rush. I can't wait to see the Sesame Martian sculpts. Hey, is that a picture of Mahna Mahna that comes with the two headed monster?
Wow, this report expands on the situation and gets pretty graphic in detail:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10468647/ Definately pretty disturbing. Looks like she was found in a shed, and the accuser is Spinney's handyman. It also appears she was killed off the property, and then dragged into one...
Hey, having no movie clips means more time for Muppety goodness!
I've gotten used to the recast. It means the show can be regular, and have a lot of new characters and old favorites. I just wish it was every week.
Yay for Sweetums, penguins and new Muppet characters(tho, the new Muppet characters seem straight out of Sesame Street or Muppets Tonight) They need to bring back the Jim Henson Hour era Muppets:) Anyways, I liked this episode...it was quaint. Just so nice to have a regular occuring Muppet mini...
Holy tamole, that's a lot of Sesame Muppets(Loved how they still call them the Sesame Muppets) as well as a lot of puppeteers! While everything on the floats is always lip synced it seems, I wonder if there were some of the signature Muppeteers there? It's so great as usual seeing how vibrant...
