MuppetFest: Discuss Original and Your Dreams

There seriously needs to be a Muppet/Henson related con in the summer of 2007. 52 years of Muppets, I mean c'mon! Wherever it is held, from Toledo to Tunisia I shall be there! But I agree, there needs to be some Muppet/Henson big names as well as sponsors.

    Statler & Waldorf on movies.com

Wow...I don't want to complain that we have regular twice a month Muppety online shows, but From The Balcony couldnt be anymore tumbleweeds and crickets. Seriously. Check out the first episodes when it was the main performers, and the show seems much much more subversive, edgy, and heavy on...

Will Pepe be on the Sureal Life?

Wow, I didn't know Marilyn Manson was on that show;) Oh well, at least its Muppety exposure. I love Pepe.

Who do you want to have his or her debut on The New Muppet Show?

Definately memorable and funny new stand alone characters. Weve seen them capable of coming up with classic NEW characters...from Pepe to Joe the Armadillo to Mo Frackle, to that Possum guy on Statler and Waldorf from the Balcony.

Interesting article on the current state of the Muppets

I agreed with the article 100%. Fans get excited about Kermit appearing with Jessica Simpson on some ghastly super bowl commercia for pizza hut, or Kermit's trademark song being used to promtoe gas guzzling trucks(by a company that worked for the Nazis, no less) Do we have ANY evidence the...

    Statler & Waldorf on movies.com

Ugh, definately not a very memorable episode. (or as I call it, a 'tumbleweeds' episode) The Girls Gone Wild spoof would have been somewhat funny 4 years ago, that Ted thomas character was pretty lame(seemed like an annoying extra out of one of those mid 80's Muppet business meeting tapes or...

    Limited by CAS acquires Palisades

I'm surprised to not see any news about this on the front page of any Muppet sites or much fan discussion...but from all the figure world headlines Ive seen, the headline is not 'Palisades Aquired by so-in-so' but "Palisades Toys Closes Its Door". Which is definate an end of an era and a sad...

    Muppets/L.A. Times article

The great hope for a Muppet revival goes far back online as far as even when MC started. I remember in the fall of 1998 we thought 1999 would be the big Muppet comeback. Then march 2000 hit with the EMTV deal and we were all crushed. 2002 seemed promising with hopes of a prime time Fox show...

The little possum dude is back interviewing people, and Sam the Eagle...mmm, satisfactory. The Sesame Street looking mid sketches continue as well.

    The Madtv Sesame parody description

I found this much more enjoyable than the soul crushingly dark "Wonder Showzen", but nowhere near the fun or quality of Dave Chapelle's Sesame spoof "Kneehigh Park".

    Muppet Film and TV References

How many Muppets has Family Guy shown? Bunsen and Beaker Bert and Ernie Cookie Monster The Count on the sister tv show American Dad, they had Big Bird, Elmo and Grover. Family Guy has also had two different Sesame Street counting sketches...there's probably more references I'm...

Your Thoughts: Piggy, Jessica and Pizza Hut

While I agree about some things cheapen the Muppets(like Muppet Wizard of Oz) I found the 'sexuality' Miss Piggy displayed to be quite innocent and in character of herself since the Muppet Show days. Remember, the first Mupept show was called "Sex and Violence", and compared to most the Muppe...

Fox takes over HIT distribution rights

Sounds good to me...I just find it ironic that the Muppets are now evenly split between the two of the top 4 biggest media conglomerates out there:) But yeah, higher visibility would definately be glorious.

Piggy and Jessica reunite for Pizza Hut and the Super Bowl

*shudders* So is this the only commercial work the Muppets are relegated to these days? One Pizza Hut commercial with Jessica Simpson a year? *remembers the good ol days of master card, dennys, long john silvers, etc*

"The World According to Sesame Street" premieres

...well, sort of. I've been keeping up with the Sundance Film Festival, and one of the biggest hits of the whole thing seems to be a new documentary called "The World According To Sesame Street", a pretty interesting look at how Sesamet Street has to be adapted to meet the sometimes harsh...

    Henson sells Muppets to Disney

All I got to say is Eiger Schmeiger...Steve Jobs is now the number one shareholder in Disney, one of the top most powerful media companies in the world. I wonder what sort of effect this would have on the Muppets? Pixar is ACTUALLY the kind of company that should be running The Muppets, not Disney.
