    Opinions Obliterated?

It is a little like when politicians say the working and middle class are just "jealous" of the rich. No, they just recognize when the game is rigged. ;) Not that anyone here is intentionally trying to do that, it's just how it comes across at times.

    Opinions Obliterated?

Yeah it's really not the big leap in technology we've had in years past. A real leap would be the combination of TV and Internet. Blu Ray is just the last gasp of a dying industry. I'll wait it out. :) That's Capitalism. ;)

Videos: Deleted Scene and Bloopers from "The Muppets" Blu-ray

Yeah pretty much. Again, I enjoyed the movie. But the medium of film in general has its ups and downs and now is not one of its up times, hehe. All this obsession with making things look perfect, way too reminiscent of the 50s, another lukewarm time for movies. Still it's pretty much the...

Videos: Deleted Scene and Bloopers from "The Muppets" Blu-ray

Yeah as much as I enjoyed the final film, I was shocked to see how much I enjoyed the deleted scenes even more. This was clearly an editing issue. The final film had too much plot exposition and not enough humor. If they do make another film, hopefully that will get more balanced out. :)

See I think actual pessimism would be if we all bought Blu Rays and said "Ugh, not enough special features, what a rip off!" But to point out a manipulative marketing ploy is not pessimism, it's reality. And yeah I'd feel the same way even on the off chance I could afford a Blu Ray player. :)

Welcome to MC, Sara! I love your signature. :)

    Opinions Obliterated?

I mean I've known real pessimists in my life, I know what it looks like, it ain't pretty. And I really don't think anyone here fits that profile.

Well you do, but after that they say, "Oh Oscar, there's no one quite like you!" Lol :) :grouchy:

Speculation: Potential Sequel for "The Muppets"

If they did use the same writers I'd be fine with that. Honestly the only thing that would need working on is the editing. Some of the deleted scenes are quite funny and I think would have made the movie stronger. The movie was enjoyable as is, but I said from the beginning that there was too...

    My Take on Artie Esposito

No I can see that. I guess I was afraid of just kinda bluntly saying "he already has been replaced" because I meant no particular disrespect about it. So I was trying to say "you know what I mean" to soften it, but I guess it came across as the opposite, lol. It's just a verbal tick I guess...

    My Take on Artie Esposito

People sometimes seem to take the winky thing as some kind of ulterior motive. I just like using it. Simple as that. Not guilty. I think you personally were certainly approaching it that way and that's totally legitimate. But others were certainly being quite harsh about the performance itself.

    My Take on Artie Esposito

I just said Kermit has been replaced before. I honestly wasn't even thinking any further than that. I mean there are fans that do feel that way. And I see their point. And I also see the point your making. It's a tricky thing because not one of us has had the exact same Muppet experience.

    My Take on Artie Esposito

But he technically already has been, you know what I mean? ;) :)

    My Take on Artie Esposito

Oh absolutely, that would be somewhat disrespectful. I just didn't see that here. But again, perhaps it's because after Jim, I always saw Kermit as a recast anyway, though I did like him.

    Another deleted scene video

I only watched the jail scene and the bloopers so far. Wow, um, why wasn't that scene in the movie again? That was perfect! I mean deleted scenes are supposed to be the unnecessary ones, not the ones that would have likely made the movie better! (Not that I didn't like the movie as is, but...

    My Take on Artie Esposito

LOL, yes indeed. And that's great, I don't want that to end for anything. :halo: I think that is a legitimate point. My feeling at the time was that I (and other fans I know) have known things weren't the same beginning with MCC. As much as I like the recasts, I still see them as recasts. So I...

    My Take on Artie Esposito

And that's totally fine, everyone has a right to their opinion. :) The whole thing just ended up being blown out of proportion. I complimented Artie's performance and it was then implied that I didn't want the Muppets to be good, lol. But yeah I don't want to pick at old scabs...

    Opinions Obliterated?

You are absolutely right and everyone is guilty of this. Like I said, my main concern is it feels like it's developing into this school yard/McCarthy mentality of isolating a group of users as "the negatives" to be avoided and scolded. As a former camp counselor I've seen how easily this kind...

    Opinions Obliterated?

Oh I believe you, lol. Yeah I don't think that's what's happening here. It's just a lot of misunderstanding and mislabeling. The definition of a Pessimist is "a person who habitually sees or anticipates the worst or is disposed to be gloomy." And I really don't think anyone here fits that...

    Opinions Obliterated?

Overall, overwhelmingly yes. We are very lucky to have this place. :) I think this problem about "negativity" and "positivity" has only fairly recently noticeably gotten out of hand. Hopefully this will just blow over soon. :)
