    The New Movie: The Muppets

It seems that they have everything taken care of. The only thing that concerned me was reports that it took 10 pages to get any Muppets on screen. That would be a mistake, one I don't think Disney would allow. Otherwise, it seems right on the mark from the little we hear.

Your Thoughts: Kermit and Miss Piggy on America's Got Talent

We’ve kind of moved on in this discussion, but it appears you haven’t been around for a while so welcome back to the forums! It's good to hear another take on this. Just to be clear, there is no New Kermit as has been stated in the MuppetCast. It seems Disney is sticking with Steve. Thank...

If they were to make a new Muppet Babies....

What Rizzo and Pepe would look like as Muppet Babies from MC's annual Easter Menu. :shifty:

    Special Vinylmation Kermit for Trade

I drew the short-packed Muppet Vinylmation "special mystery figure" It's a 55th anniversary Kermit figure and I'm willing to trade him for 2 regular assortment Muppet Vinylmation figures. I already have Rizzo and Sweetums and will accept anyone else. However, I'd only want Bunsen if he came with...

Glenn Close's Blog Post About the Muppets

That is fantastic. It made my day! :)

    Double Standards, anyone?

This was their flyer and their site too. It's definitely Jewish and that's fine with me. The guy dropping off the flyers was particularly attractive so I didn't notice the star until later. My boss was fine with different points of view but doesn't like advertising organized religion, yet...

The Cheapest Muppet Central Forum Awards of All-Time!

Aw, thank you guys. That's very sweet and totally unexpected. 2009 was a difficult year for me in many respects. It's good to have MC pals. :o (checks award for chocolate inside) :hungry:

The Walt Disney Company and The Jim Henson Company

Welcome to the forum! :) Disney (Buena Vista) did release many great Muppet films on home video at a time when they'd been out of circulation for years! The rights have reverted back to the respective companies of ownership, but it was nice to see Disney help make the Henson creations...

    Muppet Peter Pan

I think the comment was made by another comic artist here who said the panels wouldn't be overstuffed with extraneous Muppet cameos, but that was not to say there wouldn't be some here and there. Personally, I think Muppet productions have always been about many weird characters stuffed in the...

The best thing the muppets ever did: Pre-Disney purchase

I second the Muppet Movie. As for post-Jim/pre-Disney...I'll have to go with the controversial VMX. It's not a perfect special, but it got the Muppets right back where they belong...together again in the Muppet Theater (sans-childrens fables or host Clifford).

    Fozzie Illustration

I think you nailed it. He looks like a fresh newly made puppet, but in the classic design.

Disney's New Film Direction & Muppets

LOL! In all seriousness, they should have always animated that. Interesting source material, but execution was all over the place. Poor Howard.

eFX Collectibles to produce Muppet Replicas

Darn Mindstyle and Vinylmation too. There's a lot of Muppety figure goodness out now and coming soon. EFX should get their pre-order up soon before the fan dollars are spent! The first product is usually the hardest, but once it's launched things usually get easier for a while.

eFX Collectibles to produce Muppet Replicas

Oooh, I really hope they'll release the Muppet posers at a slower pace. There's no reason to flood the market. More people will be able to pre-order if new characters aren't up for order every couple of months. Two posers per-year is a nice pace. Any more than three would be disappointing and...

    Muppet King Arthur

It looks fun. I still prefer the Alvarez style much more. It was kind of a shock. I thought he had the first two issues. The lower jaw/mouths for these newly drawn Muppets look awkward to me (almost like it doesn't match the rest of the design). I guess it's good to see Muppets in different...

eFX Collectibles to produce Muppet Replicas

I guess their licensed retailers will pick up the EFX lines no matter what? It is expensive to go to these: a few thousand for the booth, traveling expenses, display pieces and transportation of them. Of course there are employees to pay. Unless they had something new and cool to report there...

    Creepiest Muppet Moment

I've always thought that nipple line was funny and brought a natural edge back to the Muppet Show characters. For too long they've been trapped in this Sesame Street ideal rather than their true experimental form for older viewers. The line is said to have been an improv from Goelz and not...

So...Any Muppet Stuff At Toy Fair?

Ooh! Thanks for that scoop, Artie! :super: I think the Kermit shape would make for a better Muppet pattern template than the Mickey Vinylmations. I'm excited. It's also good to hear the Fraggles will still come out. They were pretty. Henson is very particular about their characters in figural...

So...Any Muppet Stuff At Toy Fair?

Personally, I'd like to see stylish Muppet maquettes from MindStyle since they're bound to be pricy. Action poses of Muppets in classic scenes would be cool. Just nothing like those bland Electric Mayhem things MR wanted to put out. Well, maybe something like the Janice one. :flirt:
