Oh I know what you mean, this is a station bumper I always associated with airings of March of the Wooden Soldiers around Thanksgiving and Christmas (wow those graphics looks bad now, lol):
I've seen that before, a few bizarrely overly sensitive people freaking out over someone quoting a movie. They just can't stand seeing other people enjoy themselves for some reason, heh.
Yeah that's the one I saw! And yes they were singing "You're a Mean One" and it was actually pretty funny because the Grinch was making little comments in between lyrics like "Your point?" Lol
Lol, gotcha. Yeah I mean I won't rewrite history, the first time I saw it I did appreciate the ending for its hopeful tone, that redeemed the rest a tad, hehe.
I don't mind the Muppets going dark either, I just didn't think this special had much going on under the surface of the dark. But agree to disagree. :)
Oooo yeah I hadn't thought of it like that, that's interesting. Yeah Mad Magazine was more brutal back then, lol.

Exactly, it was a very inspired way to continue the Grinch's story. And the whole scene with the Grinch missing his mother is done amazingly well animation-wise. You totally see the transition.
Lol, yeah I can definitely I can see jokes like that working and all. I guess I'm just wary of a repeat of the Elmo situation where the young new character suddenly takes up all the attention, lol.
Actually my signature from a few days ago was from that special:
"Such things never happen in the middle of the day! And if they do I ignore them and they're bound to go away!" :)
Exactly, I mean how much more can you do with a character whose thing is that he's a fan? And again anything I can think of just ends up being a repeat of Scooter and frankly I'd rather see Scooter because he is a bit more complex. At least he was while on The Muppet Show, as you say. The whole...
