Pixar: Are the glory days over?

Have to agree with that last sentiment; I think even Pixar's worst films are better than any one of the Shrek movies (sorry Shrek fans:o). Anyway, does anyone remember "A Bug's Life?" I thought it was a very creative reinterpretation of the Seven Samurai (and consequently Magnificent Seven)...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

Am I the only one here who saw Dredd 3D? GREATEST 3D EVER OF ANYTHING EVER IN THE UNIVERSE:eek: !!! It's the only movie I've ever seen in 3D where I actually noticed the 3D. I'm usually like you, Tooth; I don't like 3D in live action films, it almost never looks good, but again, the 3D in Dredd...

    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Thread

Say what you want about the quality of the old figures, Tooth, I still loved 'em. My favorite was my Dracula Donatello. Still, the toy line got pretty out of hand at one point, to the point where they completely ran out of ideas and had (no joke) the Turtles as farmers. But some of the lines...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

Yes, Free Birds does sound like a Chicken Run ripoff, and I doubt it could do the story better than Nick Park. So, why the H:eek:LL is the new Great Gatsby in 3D? Why does a drama need to be 3D? It has a solid cast and is an adaptation of one of my all-time fav books, but now I'll have to pay...

Pixar: Are the glory days over?

Maybe now that Disney has had some successful CG films of their own (Wreck-It Ralph, Tangled), they'll take some pressure off Pixar and give them a rest so they can get their creative juices flowing again. Probably not, but it'd be nice:o.

"The Looney Tunes Show" premieres May 3, 2011

I'm just as much a Looney Tunes fan as any of these "purists"; I must've watched every one of the classic shorts as a kid (between Nickelodeon and CN, they were on quite often [though not anymore:grr:] ), and love them to this day. Even so, I loved TT and Space Jam, which has garnered a large...

    Which Is Scarier?

If bees went instinct I'm sure modern science would quickly find a way around it. On the other hand, I've always been scared of yellowjackets, so I'd have to say a swarm of bees is scarier.

"The Looney Tunes Show" premieres May 3, 2011

I love Plucky, I thought he was by far the show's funniest character. I liked how Plucky and Hamton were BFFs, just like Daffy and Porky were often paired together in the classic cartoons.

    When you need to rant...

I feel your pain, Sarge. I only went to a community college, and even that had some bad moments, specifically the bad and overpriced cafeteria food (is there such a thing as good cafeteria food;)?), the insanely high price of textbooks, which they update every year so you HAVE to get the new...

Yes, Superhero Movie was OK compared with the other __ Movies, if only because of the superb Christopher Macdonald as the villain.

What was the last Henson thing you bought?

Was it MIB or opened? I keep hearing about all these amazing thrift store finds, but have yet to have such an experience myself; I have 2 in my area, and every time I go to them I just find the usual thrift store stuff:sigh: .

"The Looney Tunes Show" premieres May 3, 2011

So maybe the whole "Li'l Looney Tunes" thing didn't jive with everyone, but there's still a lot of genuinely funny moments from Tiny Toons. I loved the skit where Buster goes to see a childrens' performer in concert, and he just keeps interrupting the guy's show and making fun of him:). I also...

Scooter Appreciation Thread For The Most Underappraciated, Disrespected Muppet of Ever

David Rudman seems to have perfected Scooter since taking over (he had other performers, including Hunt's brother, but none of them sounded right), and Scooter had an arguably major role in The Muppets. Scooter also seems to play a major role in Roger Langridge's Muppet comic book series.

    Most Underused Muppets?

Floyd had a good amount of screen time in the original Muppet Show, and also had a decent part in the original Muppet Movie trilogy, but outside of that he didn't have much to do. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more Floyd in the next film:sing:.

Why does everyone overreact to bad swings in entertainment?

This thread is sort of all over the place, but the general question seems to be "has pop culture gotten better or worse?" I believe music has gotten objectively worse. That's what I believe, that's all I'll say on the matter. On the other hand, TV is better than it ever has been. Sure, the basic...

Pixar: Are the glory days over?

As I said, there's nothing wrong with sequels when they're done right (The Great Muppet Caper, Empire Strikes Back, or Spider-man 2, to name some of my faves), but then you have franchises like Resident Evil or the Saw films, where at one point they were cranking one out each year, each one...

    Dreams about Muppets...

Two nights ago I had a cool dream where my family and I went to Knoebel's Grove, an amusement park here in PA, and they had added an animatronic Skecsi:scary: to their haunted house ride. They also had Muppet merchandise in the souvenir shop, including the Sigma Rowlf mug.

"The Looney Tunes Show" premieres May 3, 2011

I'm a giant Daffy Duck fan (I saw all his classic cartoons as a kid), but have yet to see a full episode of this show. Is it any good? Is it funny and entertaining for both kids and adults alike, like Tiny Toons?

Pixar: Are the glory days over?

Most sequels to quality movies have the potential to be good, but sometimes the studio gets in the way and takes the reigns from the creators, making what they think the audience wants based on a bunch of lame demographics. Other times the creators just lose their touch (Stars Wars I, II, and...
