Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Off-hand I can't remember it but it was from an album called Songs For Kids (or something like that). When I entered the forum, the picture had changed to a shot of the TMS cast c.1978.
Something strange is going on here - when I first "arrived" at the main Muppet Central page, the proposed cover of TMS Season Three was showing as the "album" from where the current track being played on Muppet Central Radio was from. However, the particular track is not from TMS but instead a...
It's from TMS; Dr. Teeth is playing the song "Poison Ivy" onstage and when he gets to the chorus, Poison Ivy comes creeping out of his piano and "strangles" him.
I presume you're referring to the English version of Fraggle Rock, which I'm certain *won't* be released on DVD. Only the North America/Canda version is available on DVD.
It's not; it's pointed out in the notes that "Wishing Song" (which is on the CD) was composed by Paul Tracy, and that on TMS they used some of his other songs including "Ugly", "Dog Walk" and "Something's Missing".
I suspect that one of the problems they have is trying to get the rights to some of the (potential) archive material may not be achievable; remember TMS was an ATV production not a Disney production and so trying to get access to material from the UK (if it still exists) may be an impossibility...
I noticed that MC Radio was playing a song called "There are Millions of us Who Are Ugly"; my understanding (from the liner notes of the TMS 25th Anniversary CD) is that the song is simply called "Ugly".
As I have stated previously, this does not sound like any Muppet Show sketch that I know of. I've seen all 120 episodes of TMS and I am confident that what you are describing never happened. You are either confusing TMS with another show or more likely have amalgamated two sketches into one...
None of The Muppet Movie was filmed in the UK; it was all filmed in the US. The Great Muppet Caper, on the other hand, was filmed entirely in London at the Elstree Film Studios.
What kind of nonsensical post is this?
I seem to recall that there were similar posts last year along these lines as well concerning the second season set.
Thinking about this, the only thing I can think of that resembles what you have written is "Why Can't We Be Friends?" number from the John Denver episode.
Can you give us any more details regarding this skit?
I think your memory is playing tricks on you here as I don't recall any such scene from TMS at all. Sam was not known for his singing, and in fact apart from the Opening Theme I can't recall him singing at all.
Sayer and Coolidge were top recording artists of the 70's.
Miller was one of the biggest names in country music in the 60's. His most well-known hit is probably "King of the Road".
You have to bear in mind that Disney may not have been able to clear contemporary clips from British TV shows that the Muppets/Henson appeared on (assuming they did). The second problem you then have is, does such material still exist? If it doesn't...well, that's a no-brainer anyway.
I...
While it's disappointing that the Morsels won't be on future sets, I can't say that I'm too sad that they won't available. As good as they were, I think the problem is that compared with other DVDs that use a similar format, they didn't go in to great detail about certain aspects of each...
Someone is selling a still from the Raquel Welch ep of TMS. The still is taken from her opening number. The price is too rich for my blood but I thought someone else might be interested in adding it to their collection -...
The Jim Henson Hour has not been commercially released on DVD, so the only way you are going to get it is if you contact one of the many Muppet traders on these boards.
