Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
As it would be a link to copyright material I'm afraid I'm going to have to be Mr Goody-Good and say no. However, the keywords I used were "Muppet Show - Dudley Moore". From memory it's the first non-Muppet clip that is listed.
The clip also includes the cold start and opening theme up to...
By complete chance I discovered a clip on YouTube of the ITN news for 10/29/1979, the first night that programming resumed on ATV (the channel that TMS aired in the UK) and discovered that the clip had channel listings for that night.
As some of you may know, the exact UK airdate of Dudley...
The real giveaway is the fact that the DVDs are Region free.
The blurb is also inaccurate - I don't remember Mildred being a Goose nor do I recall each show featuring "...a celebrity guest star, who were either personal friends of Henson, or his manager."
*Some* of the Guest Stars were...
It sounds like an amalgamation of two different sketches - Loretta Lynn performing "One's on the Way" and Marisa Berenson performing "You're Always Welcome at Our House" (in which she holds various visitors to her house captive in cupboards, a fridge and underneath the house.
With respect, there's already such a thread in existence over in the Muppet Merchandise forum. I refer to the thread where we can discuss our thoughts on the DVD release of TMS Season Three.
If you are that keen on obtaining an unedited version of "Muppets on Puppets" then I suggest you try the tape trading forum; there's no way Buena Vista Home Entertainment would issue a replacement disc at this late stage owing to something so minor (and folks, it is minor) as a sound issue on an...
It means that you are jumping the gun in asking this question. Season Three has just come out and I'm fairly certain they won't have even thought about the other two seasons yet.
Do people think that Disney are just restricting themselves to the Muppets for DVD releases or something?
I suggest that you Google "English Music Hall" as you're more likely to find the answer there than by asking here.
I suspect that it's simply a costume that Music Hall performers wore.
I suspect that it's because as an American, you are unable to identify with a predominantly British comedian. Spike was extremely popular in the UK, mostly due to his work as one of the Goons.
The epitaph on his grave reads "I told you I was ill."
I'd sign it, but only on the grounds that if they did being them back that they went into more detail than they do on the first season set eg deleted scenes, comparisons between early versions and transmitted versions etc
They're not; it sounds like the problem is your end. I suggest that you go through your DVD player's set-up menu and see if there is an option for having subtitles on automatically.
I think people are having some difficulty in distinguishing the difference between caricature and unintentional racial slurs.
Bear in mind that a lot of those Looney Tunes cartoons showed characters with blacked-up faces and speaking in mock asian accents. Placing those cartoons in their...
I'd keep them; even though I've got the first two season sets, I've still got some off-air episodes on VHS that use the HIT! logo which I intend on keeping. That way I can compare and contrast with other fans on the different endings that were used over the years.
Sorry Bill, but that's...
