There is a Kermit replica on eBay right now for $699.00 if you're still interested, has box but is missing plaque, so it may be a good deal if you were only looking for Kermit himself...
I would strongly suggest searching the older forums, there are TONS of tips and threads on this very subject to help you along....and be sure to post some picks on your progress!
Is there even a point to this anymore? Two things to kill any friendship are politics and religion, neither really seem to have anything to do with Kevin Clash's situation...
Kind of off subject, but I wonder.......
I had read somewhere (Don't know for sure if it's true) that when Jim passed they made a totally new Kermit for Steve. If that's true, does each performer starting out with a key character get their own version, and if so, does Kevin get to keep his?
I don't think it will bring Elmo "the character" down, why should it? All the posts saying Elmo should move or become a background character....its really like a son being persecuted for the actions of their father.....
I'm confused, why does Elmo have to move? Kermit didn't quit the Muppets when Steve took over, and Ernie is still around, so why would Elmo's family have to move from Sesame Street because of another puppeteer taking over? It won't be an easy transition for sure, but as they have said before...
Or they could go the other way with it and promote the change, they may get alot more viewers out of this in the short term to see if anything really has changed with Elmo. On the show, following a script, let's face it, any understudy can pull off the voice and actions when they know what to...
If this was purchased thru eBay, then that's where you should pursue this. If you did this thru a credit card notify them and request a chargeback, paypal will freeze his account until this is settled, they will ask for copies of all conversations between you both so be prepared...
And good...
Fozzie isn't a sack design, he's a regular body like Ernie with the gloved arms attached like in your second method. Rowlf or Cookie are the sack design. I would definitely just make a regular puppet and attach the arms to the gloves as suggested...
That's a great point, some ROWLF puppets probably were rounder than others, so much like a Kermit or Elmo, pick the one YOU like and go with it. It would be impossible to match him to every picture, so pick the one you think best represents Rowlf. One other thing, if you do choose the other...
Personally, I like the first one better, not as round and just screams Rowlf to me...But either way, you are doing a fantastic job with these, and he's going to look awesome. :fanatic:
I would start with going through any of the forums regarding puppet building or building materials. But as far as foam, I would try Joanns or another fabric store and look for 1/2 polyfoam. And buy a hot glue gun also, you want to glue the foam into pattern shapes, not sew it...
